this is exactly why i prefer the originals, whilst the vampire diaries could have had better actors, better relationships, which imo it didn’t anyways but even so, it was the originals focused on the bond of family that made it superior to tvd which was about a silly love triangle

Alyssa Long Yeah but it is mostly all about family, Elena was so sad when all her family died that they spent 3 episodes on Elena turning her humanity off because of how broken she was with no family, they spent a whole season on fighting with Damon’s and Stefan mum and then she died and Stefan was so sad and of course Stefan and Damon act like they hate each other but in the end, they showed their love for each other.

john's letter was so sad bc basically it was just that:"I love you always whatever person you are, will come and will be."

That's rich coming from him because the only reason he died was because he didn't want her to become a vampire lmao. So him saying he loved her no matter what she became but hated her becoming a vampire so much that he would die is so contradicting

Yea they really should've left Jenna alone till later. They literally killed off Elena's entire family in one season. Ridiculous

johns letter was so sad & the fact that jenna died and everyone's reactions made this soo sad especially with the song

That entire section of letter is filmed over Damon and Elena for that reason. Damon would rather she be a vampire than die. His character isn't written to trust an elixir that's never been tested. He has a hard time trusting to begin with. And I don't think John would've trusted the elixir either. Elijah himself said it may not work. Elena didn't care. John and Damon ensured her survival.

I never thought I would cry when John died but I was crying my eyes out and when Damon was walking into the sunset best way to end an episode

A lot of people say they didn’t like the show after the first three seasons but I’m just sitting over here like I liked the first 6 seasons soo much but after Elena left it just didn’t feel like tvd anymore

The pain in Elena's eyes here breaks my heart every time. It's one of the best scenes with no dialog from them.

@@evelynn7355 I never said they didn't find peace. I just stated that Stefan lived a way longer life than those two. Also Liz got cancer and her death was dragged out while Stefan's was not. I watched the Finale and saw Jenna and Liz in peace. I still think their deaths were the saddest.

when John says at the end: "I love you all the same, as I have always loved you, and always will" the scene shows damon. it means that damon loves her all the same, as he has always loved her and always will.. it is no coincidence that he appears (longer) exactly when these words are said and that elena makes eye-contact with him

John was one of my least favorite characters(especially due to killing Anna),but this scene was one of my favorite scenes of the show due to his letter to Elena

I always cry when i see back at old stuff from tvd because it brings back so many memories :( i remember watching this for the first time and i just want to go back in time😭

The people who select the songs for vampire diaries are amazing. They're never cheesy or predictable and fit just right.

The letter scene actually foreshadows damon's love for elena. He never gave up on elena even when she turned into a vampire unlike stefan. He himself tells stefan in season 4 that he loves her either way. He will always keep loving her no matter what form she is in. That is true and unconditional love in the most profound sense of the word 😍😍😍😍😍

Julie has said that it wasn't her intention for Elena and Damon to end up together she did it for the fans that wouldn't let up. She wanted stefan and Elena to end up together in the end but because Nina was leaving she couldn't do that.

This scene broke my heart. I cried so much. Jenna was one of my favorite characters, she was so adorable, cool, sweet and kickass. When Klaus staked Jenna I cried like a baby and I was miserable for the rest of the day.

Those two seconds when Kat appears are priceless. Bonnie's reaction shows so much - how much Elena has been through and how much it hurts her friends to see her suffering. It's heartbreaking.

Since that scene Elena has become a vampire,Jeremy died...like a hundred times,Bonnie dies like a thousand times,Alaric died too,Stefan did too.Oh but Delena happenned (i don't really care about them though).And Tyler,Caroline and Bonnie all lost a parent (or two)...yeah TVD really went to hell after season 2

About36GREEKS I don't know; I loved the first three seasons, but I have really been loving this season too, with - in my opinion - some of the best episodes seen so far (6x15 and 6x21). What I meant, was that with some of the things that are said in this video, or much of what is said in this video, have such a different feel now when looking back. That's all :-)

Elena is not as bad as people make her out to be people forget that The Salvatores, Katherine, The Originals, Silas, Amara, Kai, and so on inserted themselves in her life not the other side of the fence

So sad....little did they know it was only the beginning!

Seeing this in 2019 and it's still as great as the first time I saw her.

Are you critisizing the quality of the show/scene or just the way it portrays the books? Because i dont think Julie has intended the show to be very similiar. I love the books and the show seperately while enjoying the small similarities and finding myself in the same universe. I definately prefer having Jeremy exist in the show over Meridith (Elenas sister) from the books who probably would have an annoying little child actor. This along with other changes like Tyler being sexy and the quickly developed and strong protagonism for Damon simply made the story more fit for TV, in my opinion. :)

i always thought about only elena in this scene. and jeremy. but now, looking back; alaric lost her too. they were in love.
