The proper valve clearance for both the eu2000 and the eu2200 is .15mm intake and .20mm exhaust. Thats .006 inch and .008 inch respectivly.

Is the cam lobe plastic or metal?

You are way off on the clearance. Intake is .15mm or .006". Exhaust is .20mm or .008". You are setting them at .0015". Looks like you confused metric with imperial and got the decimal a couple places off as well. That is way too tight and will likely burn the valve.
