My mom recently passed away our ancestry is native from Peru and my mother had a couple of antique turquoise rings possibly from the 60s but I’m not sure I’m interested in knowing more about turquoise, my mom’s jewelry will stay with me forever it’s a piece of her still with me.

I love learning from you Dr. Lori! Why did jewelers stop using these larger clasps in favor of the tiny lobster claw clasps and the round on. Now that I am older the little clasps are difficult see and use so I can't wear my jewelry when I want.

OH NO!!! Go get a new big clasp… I know those small clasps, while easy to hide, are difficult to open and close. It’s worth it to go get a bigger clasp put on so you can wear your bling!!!

I know this is an old comment, but I agree with Dr. Lori- invest in larger clasps. We did this with my mother's jewelry & it made a big difference for her! She invested approx $450 & was able to enjoy her jewelry until she passed away last year. Now it is my turn to enjoy her pieces:)

Don't expect expertise or reputable appraisers for free. I help many resellers make money by looking at their pieces and telling them the truth.

I have a cocktail ring -- big oval -- found in parking lot -- the finger part is smashed flat. Wondering. Looks like silver and like it has some nice stones in it.
