Just saw your comment...hello, my fellow Texan! Yes, I have to agree that we've been having some really cold weather lately. The rain is just starting up here in the Galveston County area and looks like we'll be pretty soggy this week if the forecast holds up. We never know what to expect from one day to the next.😂Lol Great to meet ya neighbor...stay warm, dry and safe.😁😊

One of those flat crowbars would be handy i think. 15 cm long, like one you used in renovation. I have one like that and it's my most used tools

I’m thinking a pair of long handles tongs would’ve been handy for fishing things out of the water too!

That jet broach is just beautiful. Love the doll peaking around your finds.
I saw that brown lid and kept wanting you to use it to get water 😂. Frozen mud larking is an extra challenge. I watched while bundled up in an electric blanket with my dogs. Epic first video of the year. That jet piece was a jaw dropper 🎉
Dear Alex & Gail, I left the Scottish Borders this weekend for the Epic Journey back to New Zealand. I left Melrose in the semi dark of 7:00am and it was SO cold, 40 hours later I was in a cotton dress and flip flops in 28C heat of the Bay of Plenty. No contest. I don’t like the 🥶 cold. Not at all. I don’t miss it one little bit. But I would miss your videos, 😍 love them. My weekly treat. ❤❤❤❤ Which is harder? Brambles and struggling under those low tree branches ( I remember!) or all that chipping away in frozen solid ground? You deserve your 100k subs😊
For your amber bottle stopper, use one of your agates that you’ve found attached to cork. Tumble the stone so it’s round and polished. The agate and amber would look lovely together. Or even use some of the yellow crystals you found years ago.
Your poor freezing fingers, it looked so cold I began to feel cold in sympathy 🥶😆 That little amber bottle is sooo beautiful, the best find in my opinion
I remember when you first started making your videos I go back and watch them from time to time just to hear the excitement in your voices when you found something new new, after finding the same thing over and over I guess it does become sort of mundane.. but it's the joy and excitement that keeps me coming back it's infectious never lose that ladies, that is what makes this channel the true you❤❤
Loved the little doll from last year checking out all the great finds. So fun. Thank-u both.
Storm Isha has also reached the Netherlands. The wind is howling around my house, and it will get worse in the hours to come. I hope you are alright. I heard it was very bad in the UK. I'm surprised that you were able to retrieve so many finds. That brooch is gorgeous! Well done, Gail, by spotting that! The little perfume bottle is so cute! It definitely deserves a place in the window of wonders. ❤
I love the little dolly hiding with the finds! He did not go unnoticed!
I hope that you can extract the Victorian slate in a future mudlarking adventure. We love going along on your adventures. We were so glad that you displayed your mudlarking finds after returning home.
Mudlarking, creek walking and dump digging all bring the relics of our history back from obscurity. We get to literally hold items that belonged to someone else rather long ago 😃 Its exciting to me!!
Goodness...that was a chilly mudlark! The jet Brooch is a lovely find. I even think that where the cabochon was stuck looks a bit like a carved fossil decoration, which is quite fitting :) I can remember glass on the top of walls. My Nana and my Auntie both lived in terraced houses, with a back lane, in Newcastle and both of them had glass stuck along the top of their backyard walls. I've also just noticed Mudlarking Barbie's lovely handknitted jumper!
Wow! Congratulations! Love all the finds, but love you for taking us along on these wonderful adventures!
Bless your hearts! The things the creators go through for a video. Great first video of the year and fantastic finds
I am absolutely thrilled to see a video. I have been waiting it seems like so long L O L. Today is January 21, 2023 I'm watching it on KZread. I'm in Utah in the USA. And I also love love watching the lost Tower diaries. I count on seeing you guys at least every other week or weekly. You're the highlight of my viewing TV moments. Thank you so much for being a part of my life. Tonia
With perseverance and persistence you both became Victorious! Congratulations Ladies!
Congratulations on your Jet find! It is a beautiful piece and of good size. I love learning how you determined it was genuine; I learned so much! Thank you!
Fantastic episode thank you. What a find! Looking forward to seeing the brooch repaired. ❤
Beautiful finds you were rewarded with for braving the cold! This was a perfect ending to the day here in Michigan! Our frigid weather is warming up this coming week and we had a huge Detroit Lions win to boot! That spider in the shed though!!!😱Gayle, you are very brave!
I can fully relate to what you're feeling with the cold. It's the same over here in Sweden where I live. I REALLY need to go outside and DIG out my car from under the snow and drive into town to do my monthly shopping. Saying I don't feel like it, is the understatement of the century... 🥶🥶 Even my Wolfdog 🐺 that grew up with me in mid BC Canada and is/was used to romping around in the cold and snow has gotten so spoiled these past 2 yrs. we've been back here, that she'll run out to "do her business" and run back in again! 😳 And she is a fully furred German Shepard Arctic wolf mix... When I open the back door to let her out, she just looks at me like, "You're kidding aren't you?" 😂 I'm so thrilled with you finding the beautiful jet broach!! That really is a special find! I hope you've warmed up now in front of the fireplace with lots of hot cocoa and/or tea. ☺

That has made me feel 'sooo' cold. What a wonderful Whitby Jet Brooch, well done. As always a great video, thank you.
Those boots are really cool.👍☺️ You both had to work hard for your treasures this time. Lovely brooch.😍 I love seeing the little doll popping up in your finds! ❤

Two brave ladies. Nothing stops Gail and Alex producing such fine content. No wonder your viewers are increasing more and more very well deserved as well. To repeat myself everytime I leave a comment loving this more and more.
HI GAIL AND ALEX!! YOU TWO ARE HILARIOUS WHEN TRYING TO LOOSEN A FROZEN TRINKET. VERY FUNNY. I KNOW HOW HARD THE GROUND MUST BE AND YOU GAVE IT THE OLD COLLAGE TRY. I LOVE HOW EVERYTHING CAME OUT SO BEAUTIFUL. THE PIPE BOWLS AND THE LITTLE BOTTLE AND THE BEADS. NICE FINDS. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, THEY'RE SUCH TREASURES TO ENJOY. THANKS AND STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY ❤️ 🙏
what a neat little trick with the water! very fun episode with the added challenge 😊 i'm sure you'll have your play button very soon as it's always a pleasure to watch ❤ (i especially like the music you pick for the atmospheric parts!)
Digging in the frozen earth to dislodge beautiful finds. Hello Gail and Alex. I definitely would not be out in that cold. You ladies are so brave to be out in sub-zero temps. Congratulations on such beautiful finds.
I’m in complete sympathy with you for your efforts. It’s been minus -10C here in Ontario Canada and my little apartment has been hovering at plus 10C all day. I’m wrapped in a blanket but my space heater isn’t able to get the temperature any higher. I’m sure you will join me in hoping for better weather soon. Your storm is much more serious I’m afraid.

Oh no, hope you can keep warm. We use hot water bottles which are lovely and toasty under blankets. We struggled to keep our house warm too 🥶
I was freezing just watching you. Of course it is winter here in North Dakota as well. Love all your finds and I always learn something from your mudlarking. Thank you for enjoyable videos. Stay warm and safe
That Jet brooch is amazing, I hope you do carve something to put on it! That tiny amber bottle is also gorgeous, you should put a silver rim back on that one too...
Hello ladies, a most humorous episode thank you, I can't imagine how cold it must have been, I'm in Australia and its summer but even in winter its not that cold, loved your finds and especially the display at the end with little porcelain man helping cheers!!🥰🥶💕👍👍
So happy seeing the pudding doll back acting like Vanna White showcasing the finds!!!!
The cold does make mudlarking tricky 😂 but the frost is so magical! It looks even more beautiful where you are! 😍❄️ Great video and finds as always 🙌

You two went mudlarking on a day meant for hot tea, a cozy blanket and a perfect fire in the fireplace. You are braver than I
Amazing finds ladies! Well worth venturing into the cold for. Stay safe and happy hunting xx
I love your Wellies Alex! The photos of the leaves and stalks with frost are beautiful! Nice jet piece! Thanks ladies for braving the weather.
In those conditions, it seems only fair that you should be rewarded with those kinds of finds. That jet 'stuff' was fascinating. Thank you for uploading.
I LOVE when Alex does the hide and seek with the tiny doll- cracks me up every time ❤😂❤
❤Luv ya bunches @Alex and @Gail ❤
I love watching you two finding those little treasures . You should bring your fishing poles you could catch your supper .❤😊
Congratulations on your bucket list find! I am so happy for you, Gail! Talk about a cliff hanger, Alex! I was wondering if you were going to get the lid out of side of the foreshore. Nice finds, and the little doll is a great idea!
Hi mudlarkers good to see you from Mississippi USA. Love y’all. I saw a brown lid when you were trying to get a small. It’s the kind of lid your mum likes. God Bless you both
Nicola White has a little garden trowel attached to a springy cord and attached to her waistband. That way she never loses it.
A great video, even though it was hard frozen ground...looking forward to the next...greetings from Sweden🇸🇪
Amazing, absolutely tenacious both of you, plus Alan. The finds were worth the struggle. The doll moving through the final bit hilarious as well. Great job. I hope you stay safe, well, and warm. We've had negative 8 so I can feel your pain with the frozen landscape.
Lovely finds...❤...so enjoy spot the doll in the end..😄
Alex, I really enjoyed your version of “Where’s Waldo?” The jet broach is lovely. You two ladies went to the extreme in the bitter cold to get such lovely finds. Thanks for sharing.
I luv to watch your adventures mudlarking. I am a 68 year old lady from Ontario, Canada and really admire your mother/daughter relationship. You are both an inspiration to me. Bless you both.
That's hilarious with the doll!!
It's back to the ice age here in Kentucky, USA. Stay toasty my larking friends!
You could make a matching stopper of silver (use a cork for the base and shape the silver on top), alongside the silver collar to keep it uniform.
Love the doll. Especially doing the backstroke in whitby jet😊. And weightlifting a slate ✏️.
Beautiful Mourning piece!!! ❤❤❤
A plastic bag would work well for collecting water in and is easily transportable 😊 beautiful frozen finds today I loved the frost on the little perfume bottle ❤
I love watching you 2 young woman.. thank you for sharing your adventures.
So nice to have you back. May 2024 be a fantastic year!
Even with the ground frozen you managed to find some great finds… especially the French Jet piece😍
I just love your videos. I watch them over and over again until you put out a new one. I especially like your work on the property and house. You inspire me in so many ways. Keep the videos coming girls everyone loves them. ❤

Super first lark hope you thawed out. The Whitby jet is exquisite lovely finds. Keep safe in the storm. ❤
Buttons and beads are important finds! I'm very glad that you take the time to collect them.❤ The little perfume bottle is quite the find.😊
You guys are a hoot! Most people stay indoors on days like this! You made the frost part of the adventure!!
CONGRATULATIONS, on finally finding some Whitby jet jewellery! Seems like you have been looking for ages. Lots of other really good finds, as well. Allen is lucky to get to stumble upon you with surprising frequency up there. This all looked painfully cold, by the way; It's very rare for central Texas to get so cold, but obviously it's pretty rare for northern U.K., too.
Exciting find on the brochure and yes buttons & beads are a great find. Agree with what you said about them Gail.
Too cute how you put the little doll in each shot of the round up! You'll have the cod marble jar full in no time!
Wow..Iv never seen frozen dirt before. The Jet brooch is amazing!
Hi guys. The shard of patterned glass you found looks very much like the glass in my vintage pendant shade. We inherited the shade from my husband's grandmother. I've posted some photos on your Facebook page, because I can't post them on here 🙂 Another fabulous video, as always!
A frozen mudlarking day! Loved the “mud lady with a hat!” The water helped a lot in getting some of those treasures! Incredible finds! Your jewelry piece is beautiful…great history behind it…congratulations on the Jet found👏🏻 The amber little bottle just priceless….my favorite …thank you ladies, stay safe and warm….🌼
Stunning broach Ladies, I am pleased and surprised you were willing to freeze your fingers for long enough to get all the wonderful treasures today. Next time you go out on such a cold day maybe a thermos of hot water would help(or maybe one of hot tea for you). I love the little hiding doll, great fun catching sight of her. Stay warm and safe!
An ice pick might work better on the frozen foreshore. ❄❄❄ And maybe bring a thermos of hot water to help melt the ground! Have a Happy New Year! !at you reach over a 100k subscribers this year.
Your channel probably already hit 100000 subs or would have if they would quit un-subbing people! I have to resubscribe everytime you post a new video! Anyway, my daughter absolutely loved the silver banjo necklace that I bought for her, from your etsy store. I took a screenshot of the original in your recent past video showing it in your cabinet of wonders. It's so funky and original and I couldn't be more satisfied with it. It was well worth the money and it has a pretty good weight to it. It also got to the US pretty fast too! I was surprised, so thanks again! I hope you hit 100000 soon! You two deserve it! 👊❤

Oh the Jet brooch is absolutely fabulous of course❤
Yes, when I lived in Weeting back in 1962, I remember that many rock fences had rows of broken bottles plastered on their tops. They looked vicious! Thanks for the memory.
All the way in Canada , small border town Sarnia , Ontario and I just adore you too ! Your mudlarking adventures are just amazing . I subscribed today again , I hope you hit your target . Not only do you find wonderful treasures but you educate us on them . I just have to say Alex you have beautiful eyes
Wasn't a bad day despite the frozen ground. I loved the piece of Jet, what a find !
As an old digger myself, there’s just something about touching your finds with your bare fingers, but maybe some tight leather gloves would be warmer & easier to dig things out of the frozen ground, enjoyed the the lark ladies!❤
You are very brave to venture out in those frigid temperatures! My ancestors are from Scotland and N England but I live in the South Pacific. Currently our summer weather is hot and very humid! I do enjoy your videos so much!
Loved how you braved the cold for this video and it sure proved to be worth your time.
Inbedded with glass... Ouch😮 very interesting thank you for sharing ❤
The frost on the leaves is just beautiful.
What beautiful finds came out of frozen ground! Loved seeing your little boy laying on the broach!
