Thanks allt for the inspiration, had completely forgotten about the upsides of trees, I will very soon implement them in my builds for easier access “to the stars”. As soon as I started this video I had building ideas flying at me. Bridges with underpasses will get a lot easier to do now😎

Gotta get back to the Buildthrough! I'm feeling a bit rusty though. This was a warm up! lol

Start with a center spoke to solve the gap problem. 5-beam radius increments help the outer edges meet correctly.

Love it! The last few portal hubs I've made I switched to a deck of cards kinda style: One long hallway with portals lined up on either side with just enough space to squeeze in and enter... signs in the hallway, etc... can pack a lot more in a smaller space. This design makes me want to go back in just to make a big can out of black marble, using iron reinforced columns instead of trees. You always do things a bit different than I do (I just can't use the big stone wall blocks for example... I have to brick stuff... tweaks me lol) but you always find a way to inspire, man.

Oh yeah, finally the project of a server is coming together ! I didn't know what to expect since you talked about it more on your survival series, but a museum one will be so cool !! (And I would be hyped about a common survival one, but maybe you'll need more things to be able to moderate the community, which can be an hassle lol.)

not gonna lie this is a pretty sick build man! Ive made bases in the swamps up in the trees that cant be destroyed, but ive never thought to plant a ring of trees like that!

I used your treehouse build for my portal hub when you first posted it! It's a fun build and I really like it for the portals. I like the addition of the stone on this one!! I found a fun trick on here (EasyBoarder and Just Five More Minutes) for making signs for my portals. Since the active portal effect makes it hard to read the signs; I make the text in white! If you enter "TEXT" (don't use the quotation marks) your sign text will be white (or red, blue, green, etc.) It works in vanilla, no mods, and looks so much nicer (to me). As usual, another great Hiccup build!

@@HiccupTheHermit I know it's not really a great idea to reference other content creators, but to me it's like movies, you can like more than one ;) So if you like the idea of coloured text using signs, then you should really check out Splash of Pain and see what she did with signs!!! She shown how to add colour to whole blocks/walls and even added symbols. It really blew my mind as to the possibilities opened up in decorating/make feature walls etc.

Now this is a portal hub! Nicely done 👏

Absolutely incredible!! So excited to join the server, explore the builds, and hopefully build my own things alongside yours!!

Maybe my favorite Valheim video so far, I like the inspiration for my building skills, that are kinda uninspired I must say ;-), wish that video would be a bit longer for the interior design part .-)

When you're from below, you can use Q now to cycle between manual mode snap points and back to auto. It makes building SO much easier. Docks especially since you can build from behind where the next piece goes too. Although I'm using the beta version so I'm not sure if it's out yet on the regular one.

hmmm, I doubt they will... Just my thoughts, but I think they'd add another type of boat before flying. Or maybe they are saving that for an end game sort of tame/vehicle...???

Valheim is Cross play! I think you should be able to join my server even from xbox. Just check the Discord in the following days for the info!

cool build! How well does it stand up to a troll raid if you don't like using moats or terrain manipulation to build a wall?

I mean... I would definitely build a perimeter defense around it. Any build really needs a good defense wall or barrier... The trolls would make quick work of the portals inside of they hit it.

@@HiccupTheHermit true dat. having a couple of those trees coming down would suck. Going to try to incorporate a pine tree or 2 into a future build. Never tried growing the pines in the meadows. I know it didn't work in the mountains, so didn't bother trying anywhere eles LOL
