If motogp has transitioned from a niche sport to mainstream broadcasted worldwide it's mostly thanks to him, it would have taken at least 20 more years, if ever, without him, to get the sport where it is now. If most motogp riders are millionaires nowadays it's mostly thanks to him, he has done to motogp what Jonah Lomu has done to rugby, a feat only an handful of athletes across the eras have been able to achieve. Such an iconic status . Look at average attendances when Mick Doohan was crushing the competition...

I ask my aunt whom doesn't know motorcycle or racing stuffs at all.. Me : "Do u know motogp?" , She : "What is that?..." - Me:"Do u know Jorge lorenzo?.." , She:" No..." , Me:"Do u know Valentino Rossi?.." , She: "Hmmm... that bike racing guy?"

My 88 years old mom, also knew the 46 riders and said, this guy already raced for long time. She didnt know the name, but know the number 46. Lol

I met him in Argentina, had lunch with him in the Yamaha hospitality. Such a cool and humble dude.

Aye. He's the G O A T in his particular trade. His legacy will never be forgotten by those that follow tarmac motorcycle racing .

Just sad that many people forget what that guy had done in the past and how good he really is. I remember Troy Bayliss saying in a documentary, when Rossi announced to leave Honda for Yamaha, that: "If he (Rossi) wins with the Yamaha, he would be one step closer to god." Rossi won it four times. He is the last 500cc World Champion and I wonder how many of the so called "Aliens" would have survived a 500gp season. But that's only my 5cent.

Well said dude, I've been a fan since his 125 days, and he is the best rider I've ever seen on a track, it has always been fun and exciting to watch him.

When he wins a race it can make my whole day OK even if it wasn't good.

glad to have witnessed the GOAT. met him personally a few times in Austin, TX last month. to do what he does after 20+ seasons is ridiculous.

@@ExtremeDeathman A factory Rider on factory machinery at times racing a field of privateers on bikes that were often far smaller displacement. Ago didn't face nearly the competition modern riders do.

Hurry hurry, I need Episode 2 ... thanks again to Monster Energy and the Rossi inner circle for sharing this with his fans. We're from the USA, but plan to visit Italy within next couple of years ... we will be wearing out 46 Shirts and hats in the hope native Italians take sympathy on our English and help us navigate their wonderful country called Italy and of course Rossi's home town.

I have to admit, while being a fan or Rossi but also other riders... it doesn't matter how many championships other riders eventually win. It doesn't matter wether Vale gets his 10th, or not. NO ONE is EVER going to match this guy for style, charisma, passion, and enthusiasm. He has redefined world motorcycle championship racing. He has influenced, in fact has caused, the current generation of younger riders who wish to beat him, or be like him. He has given us new standards of what it means, to be a world champion. HE is the G.O.A.T. He is, Valentino Rossi.

I dont even care if he's not win the race anymore, vale is the face of passion and determination, he bring battles not only in the first row, i remember his face when sete beat him in 2nd position, he's furious, he try to smile but he cant hide the anger, he show us that he's only human, but always keep it real.

Phenominal. Whether you're one of the many that love the guy, or one of the few that don't... What this man has achieved is outstanding and will never be accomplished by anyone else. Realistically, he deserved the title last year too, and to still be at the absolute top of the sport at 37 years of age is an extraordinary achievement and should be respected and celebrated. The sport will be a far worse place without him. The greatest of all time, Valentino Rossi.

This chaps got talent, class, humor, inteligence,respect, and to top it all hes bloody humble with it.......... Just like Joey Dunlop..Different racers but the best that will ever be in their individual sport.. Well perhaps we should not say ever but probably for a long long long time.. Been watching Rossi race since i was 9 years old in 99 and I still remember that race where he ran to the toilet after, was a funny moment id never forget, I grew up loving motorcycles and used to watch Michael doohan and Max biaggi battle it out, doohan was coming towards the end of his career and when I saw Rossi I was captivated by his fun personality and his natural abilty. I've been a fan of his to this day

I can't believe I am rewatching the legend again! I have been a huge fan of Rossi, and I still am. And that is an awesome decision I had taken!

this guy has evoked so many emotions for me as a bike fan over the years that it's hard not to call him the greatest motorcycle racer of all time....Remember, it's not all about winning goal races, winning championships but the emotions the rider adds to it all after the win! u need a one off personality to be great these days and he has it by the bucket load. always has always will. thankyou valentino for everything you've done for the sport and the endless joy, excitement, exhilaration and fun you have given us all over the years....he truly does deserve that 10th world title and to go out on top! what a one off. I can't see any other racer capturing so many hearts in the pinnacle of motorcycle racing in.....well let's say...FOREVER!!!!
