I just watched a video where Valentino, Cinta and other Orangutan orphans were released onto the island in preparation to their full release into a protected wildlife reserve. How wonderful to know that these former “babies” are growing up and have a future, free, in the wild thanks to the long hours, hard work and dedication of these volunteers & workers. Its so scary bc they say within a few years that could happen and if these AMAZING animals ever go extinct their is no hope for humanity & I will cry 😢 so bad bc these guys and the gorillas are my absolute favorite but I hope humanity can change & help before it's to late bc we are taken away the very thing we all started from ( the wild) they were here long before us so ppl that say they are pest and whatever else makes me mad bc they are doing all these things bc loss of habitat I hope things change... You can, I mean you won't get to have them in your home as pets but you can find an organization that lets you sponsor/ adopt one of them and the monthly fee goes to their care. I would check it out, if you want to be a helping hand to these vulnerable animals. I donate thru BOS foundation!

Valentino looks overweight. He won't forage unless he's hungry. He really wasn't having a fast go at that bottle or the fruit. He sure is cute though, and I really support and respect the Borneo Orangutan projects that reintroduce them to the wild where they belong. Godspeed Valentino!

Robert Kubicki because babie orangutans are very susceptible to diarrhea . so usually the ones with the diapers have the shits. so they d9nt want them uncontrollably shitting all over the other babies and the caretakers as it would spread illness to the other babies. they have very fragile immune systems when their babies.

They sometimes do that if one has diarrhea or loose stools, just for sanitary reasons, to protect everyone from germs.

They are so precious like humans they each have individual personalities

At 2:17 the little Orang in the swing to the left is a hairy little punk. Constantly biting & pulling hair most of which was from behind. So much fun to watch lol..

@John Adams Yeah they are potty and most anything-else trainable, amazing what they can grasp mentally. Seen the clips where they're using wood saws, or hijacking canoes and paddling them? Go look, its awesome.

@@johnadams2063 Well, Koko (RIP) the famous "talking" gorilla had a toilet she used w/ more grace than most humans LOL, and many chimps do the same. Since orangs are equally, if not more, clever, it's totally feasible. And yeah they learn their names and can be taught sign language, map reading, how to use money, (look up "Chantek the orangutan who went to college") and God knows what else. The only danger w/ wild adults (esp.males) is they are extremely defensive and territorial, fiercely guarding their turf, like we would guard our homes and loved ones, that's all. Respecting their space avoids conflict and possible tragedy.
