Her articulation is insane. Especially considering how it seems like she's not even touching the piano. Her hands seem to float just above the keys. Remarkable.

To those saying this was messy execution, I just want you to know that this is a live performance invitation, and during this time, she might have been invited with so many recitals within a month. So she doesn't have all the energy to prepare for all events. So please understand that this is not a Studio version where you make is exactly perfect as it is. or a Competition preparation to portray perfection! Just like any other singers out there they worn out, so does Valentina. I'm a pianist myself and there are so many things to consider to perform, no.1 the type of piano to get used to. no. 2 The mood of your day, no.3 the amount of Rest and Sleep no.4 the type of music piece to play. She might have played this by memory only, and did not really prepare a lot for this. But she manages to play it with ease and with her awesome skills. Love her so much

Dear Rune! I am, as many others, very thankful to you for having the opportunity to watch this good recital of Valentina. Video recording is very good as much as the foreshortenings. It is really cool and in some cases can be very helpful for others to see the pianist's hands from different angles. Thanks again!

If you know the history of this piece, this is even better. Gaspard de la nuit (Ondine is the 1st of the three movements) is a masterpiece. It is based on poems by Aloysius Bertrand, and I encourage you to read them ! :)

Can't say I particularly enjoy this rendition. Not because of all the wrong notes, but the actual tension in this incredible pice isn't quite adequatly portrayed, there's little of an arch over the entirety of it. Maybe I'm just to spoilt by Argerich's masterpiece of a recording.

There is a lot to criticize but also a lot to like in the performance. The ending is specifically marked not to slow down, yet she slows down a lot. There are a bunch of wrong notes and wrong patterns, such as in the opening and the first pseudo-glissando, and wrong notes throughout, and a pretty weak glissando around 4:50 on the black keys. The climax died off awfully quickly. But there is good stuff too: some originality in the crescendos around the 1:00 mark, a good and faster tempo than I usually hear around 3:20, and an overall sense of watery evocation. And this is an encore, rather than a recording session, we keep in mind. And this piece is very difficult. Of course the Bosendorfer piano seems remarkable and well-maintained and tuned and up to the task of the piece.

Masterful. Magical. But she only practices 12 hours a day AND has a photographic memory and perfect pitch. Even with all that talent she still works harder than most.

You kinda have to take to consideration of Ravel's Ondine. It is truly a force to be reckoned with. Even Marc Andre Hamelin had difficulty playing this live in one recording you could find here on KZread.

C'est beau mais ce piano n'est pas fait pour jouer du Ravel ! Il faut un Pleyel des années 20 ou antérieur !
