Valencia Spain's El Cabanyal - Beach barrio ranked top 10 in Europe!
Today in Valencia we head down to the famous, El Cabanyal neighborhood. El Cabanyal was just ranked one of the top 10 barrios in all of Europe, and its easy to see why,
Here in Valencia you have to make a choice, live in the city, or live close to the beach. Although Valencia is an easy city to bike around and there is a tram that runs from the beach to the city, it can seem very far away to live in El Cabanyal. But we can see the draw. This old fisherman's village is very eclectic, cute and great access to the beach.
This is one of the hottest neighborhoods in Valencia for good reason.
In this episode, we head down and show you some of this neighborhood in Valencia. We stop and get some food and drinks as usual and head down to the beach just before sunset.
The only serious mistake we make is trying to get into the popular restaurants on a Friday night without a reservation . So join us as we explore El Cabanyal here in Valencia.

Who are we?
Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, born and raised.. ya know.
We left our family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic. We decided to that we should also start a KZread channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! Hola guys! Awesome Videos! Soooo jealous of you too. Wife and I are planning on doing the same. Sell everything and leave the west coast behind. Travel for a couple years though Europe. Were thinking of living in Alicante area and use it as our jump point. Valencia look every cool, but seems too big for us. Thank you for what you do. Be safe!!

Hi Bram, thank you! I’m glad to hear that our channel was helpful! 😊 Valencia is pretty normal now, although due to the spike of cases, now we have a curfew back in place (1am-6am) until August 16th. But Valencia is also vaccinating people pretty fast, the problematic age group (20-29, most of case spikes are from this age group), they just started vaccinating them. Please know though, August is usually not the best time to visit Spain, as lots of Spaniards go on vacation during this month, hence, vacation destinations will be more expensive and a lot of places will be closed. There is a page called N332 on Facebook, it’s a great resource to find our new restrictions in various municipalities in English. 😄Hope it helps!

Just make sure Valencia is doing well in Sept for our visit. We have our flights booked so no looking back. Tapas and drinks. Last Time I had a BUD was probably in 2015. For Carmel last bud might be 1887.

We will try our best! We should be over 70% vaccinated by then. It has been forever since I have had a Bud either…Vicky has had maybe 2 in her life. But it was actually pretty good🍻. Carmel looks great for being almost 140 years old! Cheers!

Hi Loreen, lunch time most restaurants have a board outside called “Menu del Día” many will have Paella Valenciana, which is chicken. This will typically be the first course of 3! Thanks for watching!

You could find a para llevar or take away restaurant that has a big paella in the window!

ㅇㅇ 유럽음식도 하나하나 배워가는 중이야 ㅎㅎ 근데 유럽 음식은 전통있고 좋지만 다양성은 북미나 아시아에 비해 덜한것 같아. 그래도 음식의 질은 정말 좋은것 같아 ^^
Another video already? Horray! I love the old houses in that area. And I really want to check out that Mercabañal place! And they should have put actual kimchi on those patatas bravas. We used to order from this Korean-fusion type of place in Berlin, and they had amazing kimchi fries. They actually had kimchi on them though, and had a really nice aoilo. Those bravas were just imposters! 😂
