Good for USC, they 100% saw her speech and went "naaahh" lol. It was likely to be highly inflammatory and political just based on what she said herself in that interview. Regardless of what side they're on, they don't want to deal with that controversy, and we need more places like this, that keep it professional and don't get involved with giving opinions on foreign conflicts.

This may be the biggest NON-STORY of the year. The status and title of valedictorian is only meaningful within the university. After graduation no one cares except for the parents, the students and a handful of cousins. If an organization is even a little concerned that their students' actions could threaten a widely attended high-profile event then they have every right to make adjustments to their program and move forward without incident. This student deserves no special consideration. She earned the title and status of valedictorian but is granted no status or privilege beyond that.

Yes, we wouldn't want current topics to be thought about by our future leaders.

The Israeli/Palestinian War debate is simply never honest on either side….so it causes not enlightenment but simply further upset. Why? Because you need the dead civilian number to be delineated into two groups: those killed as human shields…and…those killed while not being in a warned building or area. Jabalia Refugee Camp people were warned for many days to leave but some certainly stayed there. International Law does not protect them nor see them as innocents. Oddly no one on earth knows how many dead civilians were human shields and how many were not human shields.

There is no free-speech entitlement to speak at a commencement.

This is ridiculous, let her speak. People have died for her to be able to speak and when the next person wants to speak on xyz, they should be allowed also. People should be allowed to speak their minds. Time people went back to talking to each other and get out of our own algorithms. Especially those who don't agree with you.
