    thank you for the information! it's hard to find good, medical videos on lesser-known transgender issues. also, that's so cool to see a trans MD! I am a ftm nursing student :)

    Thanks. I am taking testosterone for energy and life libido. But I’m close to perimenopause probly. I am using topical progesterone also. But believe I need to use the topical estrogen that I have as well

  • @lukeodubhda
    @lukeodubhda8 ай бұрын

    great video! I'm surprised that topical estrogen only has effects in the area applied. wouldn't a hormone have to get into the blood stream to have an effect and then once in blood stream, could have effects everywhere. it's absorbed in through the skin and gets to the relevant tissues but not via blood? any thoughts?

    Good question! Estrogen gel is a specific formulation to act on the specific sites it's applied to. It doesn't travel very far in the bloodstream and acts on the receptors around the tissues they are closest to. Hope that helps!

    hey, as a transgender man i had some questions about some things i think youd know better about as a doctor and trans man yourself. but theres no way of contacting you anywhere so im just leaving this here. i understand we have a risk, trans or otherwise for cervical cancer. i, and probably many other trans guys dont see myself getting tested cause its too much anxiety and dysphoria. especially where im from, being trans is extremely uncommon. so, with that being said as a trans guy and doctor yourself whats your experience ? do you get tested regularly ? and would you recommend something like a hysterectomy and trachelectomy to remove the cervix and uterus altogether to prevent cancer in the future ?

    Hello! My 13 yr friend is going to be taking testosterone soon. I really want to take some as well, I want all effects from it apart from facial hair and a too deep voice. Is there any type of testosterone you know that can do that? :) I’m ((13-16))

    FYI, bacterial vaginosis is a vaginal infection yes but it’s bacteria and yeast is a fungus. A yeast infection is completely different from bacterial vaginosis and are you really a doctor because you should know that

    HIIII ! i'm an enby transmasc person who's about to start T, i'm also Bipolar and on Mood regulation pills (Quietiapine). Can Testosterone and my treatment cause some bad mix symptoms, are they compatible ? (thanks in advance if you answer)

    as someone who took it for way too long I would try and get off seroquel and ask for a better bipolar med tbh. It makes you so tired it'll be hard to tell what the testosterone side effects are but im not a doctor so only listen to them and dont randomly quit cold turkey, that causes bad withdrawals

    This vid is helpful as I suspect I may have atrophy. Im just wondering, as a trans doctor what is your opinion on transmedicalism? Do you believe dysphoria is the inate condition which makes us trans, or something else?

  • @lionhearted_ben

    Dysphoria is not a need for someone to be trans. It is entirely someone's personal decision on whether they want to pursue medical interventions in their transition. I see gender diversity from the lens of my ancestors in South Asia.

    Im not trans anything but i used to be a CMA, & a CPT. This topic is very interesting tho-regardless of my profession or preference. As a Mom (my kids are in their 30s tho, so maybe im now n exmom, like the cma & cpt titles?? 😆Lol n ! i no thats not true, im jk) i imagine raising a child dealing w this ... We all no how blunt kids can be. Sometimes (actually --most times) theyre so blunt. Alot of times they can really scar us deeply! So often r issues as adults, come from the stuff done to us when we were kids. Id probably have such a hard time rearing a child who faced trangender. I was a lil bit crazy protective over my kids. Smh somebody messin' w my kid?!!? 🤯💔😖 Not a good idea! Id probably end up in trouble smh not good. More than that issue tho would likely be feeling like Id failed my child. Mommys wear an exceptionally cool cape! We fix everything! Everything!! We always make r child's life easier or at least more manageable... From kissin' booboos to changing bicycle tires and gluing tea sets back together-- we fix it all!! Not being able to "fix" the issues going in hormonally and physically would just kill me inside. Sure-id utilize the doctor, and hopefully shed treat my child successfully but... It's not the same as Mommy'jng the situation.

    Why didn't you mention the vaginal attrophy and sepsis that Buck Angel experienced and nearly died from? If you're going to offer medical advice, at least tell the truth. Otherwise, your channels is a disservice.

    I did mention vaginal atrophy.... I think you need to learn that I'm not keen on using big scientific words but would rather explain what that means. And many individuals regardless of gender will experience vaginal atrophy. Instead of using anecdotal incidents to scare folks, there are ways to address these problems in both cis women and trans folks.
