There a few Psalms that come to mind are Psalm 139 Prayer for the Deliverance from Enemies, Psalm 140 Prayer for Preservation from Evil, Psalm 141 Prayer for Deliverance from Persecutors, and Psalm 142 Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies. After watching this lesson for today this morning I just opened my Bible and these Psalms were presented to me to read, as if St. Benedict wanted me to read them. Salve Maria!

The words, "Be gone, Satan!" are not evil, but powerful. Through the prayers and power of St. Benedict and Our Lady, may you have peace and confidence in the protection that is yours for the asking. I feel that the devil is attacking me so much. Since I made my Consecration to Jesus through Mary and a Consecration to Jesus in the Eucharist which I made with Fr Jonathon Meyer, I seem to be constantly struggling and I have so much confusion and doubt in my mind

Thank you, this was well-timed. I was just asking Jesus this morning where a particular thought was coming from, bc that determines how to deal with it, and I couldn't figure it out. I'll try this, and if it disappears, that's my answer!

Thank you for these wonderful videos! I am wondering if it's ok for laity to say, "vade retro satana" without first saying, "in nomine Jesu" ? Would not saying vade retro satana without saying it in the name of Jesus count as dialoguing with the devil? Isn't dialoguing with the devil something reserved for Exorcists? I am wanting to understand. Thank you!

@lovefromholymeadow Hello! that is an excellent question. You are right, for the laity it is always better to invoke the name of Jesus, and the intercession of the blessed Virgin Mary when saying this imprecation. In any case, when we rebuke the demon, we should always do so in God's name. Even the Church and Her ministers invoke God's power, though an authorized minister does so officially, because He acts in persona Christi. I think the greatest aid a lay person has against the demons is a very strong devotion to Mary and constant invocation of Her name and prayer to Her, especially the Rosary.
