That is the same multimeter that I have

It's isolated, meaning that the motor doesn't have a ground reference, so no current can flow from one point of the device to ground. If he would have used two hands at the same time, then it would be a different story entirely :)

I want to use a vaccum cleaner motor to build a table cutting machine, can you tell me how to wire it safely? is a caoacitor needed? this guy just pluged mains to brushes
