V8 80/45 Series Landcruiser
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The most popular and entertaining race car that Cagetec Racing ever built is the LS2 V8 powered 45 series Landcruiser. We go back through the archives with footage, onboards and photos from its original spec as a Class 7 Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series. We check out some of the Off Road Racing Events and Winch Comps that it has entered over the years

Bit like the story of the old axe , "I've had this axe for 40 years , it's had 4 new handles & 3 new heads".
That old race footage of the 80 is awesome! Great build guys!

Nice🙂 🤜🤛
100%😎 mate. you mentioned upgradeing the diffs.... what parts did you use and where to get from? cheers
@CagetecRacing
3 жыл бұрын
The front diff was custom made, its essentially a patrol centre into a landcruiser diff as well as using a variety of upgraded/longfield axles. There would probably be some simpler/stronger options on the market now

How did you make the one piece tilt bonnet/fender? Did you make a fiberglass mold over the top of the standard bonnet/fenders, & work from that? Loved watching the videos of the 45 in action - cheers.

We actually picked the 1 piece bonnet up 2nd hand. If I can find out who makes then I will let you know. Thanks for watching

The gearbox is the standard 80 series manual gearbox which normally goes behind the 4.5L petrol motor

Love it mate. Up the 40 series!
What gear ratio are you running to use both 33s and 37s haha ? Or do you just run 25% reductions in low range
Tell us about your suspension. How long a coil and shock, what brand, custom mounts or stock locations, valving? Looks supple but stiff when you need it and it the right time
@CagetecRacing
4 жыл бұрын
Stock coil locations. We do have a variety of springs with different rates/height etc. we put in for different applications. King bumpstops help a bit, but the big factor is the triple bypass shocks. Down South Motorsport helped out with valving them based on vehicle weights we gave them

@@CagetecRacing Appreciate the response. I have shopped DS, too. Are they stock coil heights? What were triple by pass shock extended length? There seems to be such great travel yet it does not look that high a lift. Is there a lift?
@CagetecRacing
4 жыл бұрын
@@allenjones4862 the shock mounts are custom top and bottom. They are extended. It runs minimal lift. 2 inches at most

How many tomes did you replace the clutch?, what gearbox does that have in it?
@CagetecRacing

Clutch has been good the whole time. The gearbox is from an 80 series landrcruiser, the one that normally goes behind a 4.5L Petrol motor

Ruff as shit but couldn't kill it
What gearbox is in it
Was looking at building one like this for Rally in the USA but would probably have to stretch the cab a few centimeters as the rule here require the main cage to be within the cab. The rear bars can be external but the main hoop and braces would all have to be in the cab behind the seats and I think the stock cab is too tight for that.
@CagetecRacing
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, even with the main hoop outside the cab it's very tight. A stretched cab would be really nice

@@CagetecRacing are you running the R151F gearbox and if so is there a readily available adapter to mate it to the LS engine?

@@CagetecRacing Thanks for the info. All of the FJ80's and FZJ80's this side of the world were Automatics. We can still buy the H55F transmissions brand new which work nicely on the 40 and 60 series but the stock manual boxes for the 80's are all imported from Japan or down under ;)
A Defender will never beat a FJ40 or HJ75 series

Kenapa kalau Toyota itu kemampuannya pewernya itu kok melebihi mobil mobil Eropa atau Amerika contoh nisan loging Timber yg R 10 atau R 12 trus dibandingkan dg kenwurd yg kapasitas mesinya sama kok power dan kemampuan daya angkutnya juga kalah cuma nisan kalah sistim brick / pengereman
