V4E6: To Skagway for the Halibut
I depart from Stewart, British Columbia, and resume the long journey north to Skagway, Alaska, via the Cassiar and Alaska Highways. On the way, I experience jaw-dropping landscapes, explore Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, pick up some hitchhikers, and try some wonderful new foods!

I am Japanese. I am not good at English. I am always healed by beautiful scenery videos. The vast land of the North American continent has many attractions and is enviable. I look forward to videos with good scenery from now on.
Great lesson on respecting the native peoples! Thanks for sharing.
The scene at 4:35 was awesome! So serene and beautiful! Always wanted to travel up in that region.
Thank's for reminding me how much I enjoy this area of the world. While living in Fairbanks AK my family & I drove down to the lower 48 to MO mind you this was in 1978! What a trip! Whitehorse was my favorite.
Your content never gets old. The bear shot at the end was cool too. Keep living your dream Brother.
Chris, your the MAN! Your attention to detail is incredible! I’m traveling through your eyes. Safe travels until next time
Lord Jesus it's a truck fire ...ain't nobody got time for that!!! 😸😂 Love your videos they just keep getting better. So glad I subscribed. You and Ronny Dahl are my faves.
I recently stubbled across your channel and begin to look at your videos for Alaska. I completed a 14500 mile motorcycle trip from SC to AK June July 2018. Really enjoying you perspective from a jeep. Funny thing is I ate at the same restaurant in Skagway and had the same meal. I'll be riding back up again in 2020. Enjoy your work. Safe travels
Way late to this but had to drop a comment on your interaction with the First Nations folks who gave you "permission" to use the land. The native populations, Dene, Cree, Inuit, etc in northern BC, Yukon, Northwest Territories have never signed historical treaties. So yes, you are on un-ceded land despite our roads, our signs, our towns, mines, and even settlement. It really is their land still and despite our inroads up there debilitating game migration patterns, work camps in the oil and gas industry impacting on the female population, etc they still allow us to visit, live and work on their land. Best for them to remind us all, at every juncture, of that. Too many forget that stuff. Your reaction and thoughts were (are) first rate. So glad I found (and subbed) your channel. That whole area is sort of my back yard...if you even plan to return announce it in a future vid and I'll pm you with all the hidey holes and must see stuff I've accumulated.
You have the best humor lol.
Your videos are just as great the second, third and fourth time watching them.
Another great video Chris, loved the close up shots of the dirty Jeep. Really tells a story of how far you've travelled. I'm doing similar travel at the moment. 3 weeks around Tasmania in Australia, sleeping in the back of my 4wd SUV. It's a great way to see the world.
I want to thank you for the great content. Your photography and perspective is outstanding. Thanks for bringing us along, safe travels friend.
As always Chris another awesome video. The quality of your videos, and it’s content is like we are there with you. My 12 year old twin daughters and I, love watching you in your travels. We love to Jeep, hike, and Kayak as well... any-who peace, love, and safe travels. 😎
Chris I’m still amazed at the beauty you find on a weekly basis. Being a photographer this weeks adventures offered up a lot of content. I could spend a lot of time in that area waiting for the perfect light etc. thank you for sharing.

Chris, I watch from the UK with no wild camping allowed - you are blessed to have such opportunities. Keep it up
"Somebody's truck is on fire!" - thanks, you reminded me I need to buy a fire extenguisher for my truck.

Check out Coyote Works. His Jeep burned to the ground. It seems there is or was a problem with Jeeps catching fire.
What a great video!!!!! Thank you for sharing your journeys with us. Stay awesome!!!!!!😎✊🏼✊🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great work Chris! You have me.inspired to travel and I wouldn't be thinking this way if it weren't for you. Been following u for awhile and I always excited for fridays when u push your video thru. Thanks pal One day I hope to meet you in person
I want to thank you for a wonderful trip.. My Dad spent time up that way fishing in the 50s, I have never gone up that way.... someday. Thanks again.
Addicted to your adventures!! Regards from a spanish jeeper OIIIIIIIO
The bridge at around 15:00 is most likely a bridge previously used for the Alaska Highway, and then the road was “straightened” out to be more efficient. I was amazed at how you could “see” where the road used to be, by the cuts through the trees, when we traveled to Homer on MC in both ‘16 and ‘17.
Thanks Chris for taking us along for the ride. Another great episode.
I really look forward to your videos. Alaska is on my bucket list of places to go. Thanks,
Another great video! Living the dream.
11:41 Leaving us in suspense just as a creeper pops up...
Another amazing video. Great work Chris.
Beautiful scenery, excellent vid!
I was in Skagway last week (cruise stop) and spotted your Jeep in town as we were about to head up the highway for a picture with the Alaska sign. Looking forward to the next video.
Greetings from you biggest fans here in sunny South Africa. Awesome episode Chris, love the area you are in right now, it definitely on our bucket list of adventures still to do. The funniest part of your video this week was when you described the forest fires say "It's 18 August"... hehehe, guess we've just witnessed a video from the future seeing as it's Friday 17 August :)... “Welcome to the internet, Alaska, I’m a dork... sorry.” 😳😂😜 love it! I would probably do the exact same thing!!! Ha
Loving your videos mate, Jeeper / KZreadr here in New Zealand.
Good vlog. Hopefully inspires some people to head north. I wish you had paddled boya lake it's awesome. Having been to all these places you are doing well you have stopped at some of my favorites. Juneau is worth the boat ride/day trip.
Wow those sights were amazing.

Great video and amazing scenery! Favorite part though is 29:37, so funny :)
Great video, thank you!
very nice one; great to follow along with you...actually the same day that you published this time. usually looking at older videos.
This episode was truly epic!
Keep up the good work Chris!
I prefer to cook spam after slicing it thinly. We picked up the spam habit when living in Hawaii years ago. Try it thin next time, rather than chunks.
Your videos are super. Content is awesome. .
Great vid, love you...
Not only watching every weekend your latest episode, I also check out the names in google maps to understand where you are very hope to be there too one day, the north looks great.
Chris you living in the future... "August 18th"?! Ha. Keep up the great work brother
Yay Alaska!
It makes me sad to look at your video of Whitehorse when I was young back about 1950 we spent time in WhitehorseIt. At that time there were no paved streets in Whitehorse it was a small town with an airport the railroad was still running out to Skagway and there steamboats tied up along the river at that time to supply down river there were no Road to Dawson and the other small towns along the river and a very large Hudson Bay trading post where you could buy everything from dog sleds, tents and all your needs.
Great content. My 13 &12yo girls play Minecraft, piano, violin, cello. I need to convert a school bus and travel before they grow older. Cheers! Thanks for all the work you do. A patreon.
your best one yet!
Keep up the great videos..good luck in your journeys, ohh also if you can try to comment on the places that you eat food so if some other people see your videos and are near that place in the future, then they would know how the food and customer service is....
Awesome video
Interesting puzzle cache at the sign forest
Nice video! Tks
Awesome place
Loved the "I'm a dork" at the Alaska sign. I did a similar clip a few weeks back at a much less impressive Texas sign - just for my wife since I didn't have the balls to post it publicly :-)
17:50 TO 18:02 - Your windshield thoroughly appreciated the bath! I CAN SEE AGAIN... reference - 6:29
My goodness....Alaska has to be the most beautiful place in Russi- err America I've ever seen.
29:30 Chris, you're not a dork ; plenty of other KZreadrs do that too.
My mother also knows Anne Beiler she is a great person!!
If you plan to travel through Grande Cache AB I know many places for you to stay. Some of the most beautiful country you will ever see.
HUGE SHOUTOUT!
Just found your video, loved it ! got your self another subscriber from Sydney, can you tell me what camera you are using ? the footage quality is just stunning...
nice video
Cool..
The huge europeancamper was ptobably Unimog baed.
That spam would make a good burrito.
If you're looking for a stringed instrument that is easy to play and easy to pack consider the Seagull Merlin. It's based a 4 string dulcimer. There are several reviews on youtube. I have almost no musical talent but I can pluck out a tune without even trying.
And as soon as I ask the kayak is launched.
Nothing wrong with being a little dorky ever now and then.
Hello, just discovered your great videos. I was wondering what type of camera you are using, looks excellent more than most videos on ytube in 1080p60. Thanks.
You can slice spam and cook it like you would a hamburger that’s how I do it
Woot
Mmmmm... toilet coffee ;)
Gotta love mine craft

Have you a time when you covered all your camera gear? Thx
So, you're not going to elaborate what happened after your hike with Anna and Vero? =D

Question: how did you handle the cell service for your phone? Did you upgrade your package before leaving the states? I have heard that roaming internationally can be extremely expensive. Might be a good note for fellow travels to consider. thanks
12:36 Quoth the Raven "Nevermore!" or is that a crow?
When have you used the kayak?
