Adapting education today to the challenges of tomorrow's generations. That is the great concern, and also the object of study, of the British educator and writer Alex Beard. It all began with a question: what should 21st century learning be like? In order to investigate it, he left teaching and decided to hang a backpack on his shoulder to travel the world studying the most innovative and cutting edge educational methods.
From his travels, he stresses that "we should take creativity more seriously" and that "we are on the threshold of a teaching revolution". Regarding artificial intelligence, Beard is optimistic: he says we are wrong to compare the human brain with artificial intelligence, because "human brains are organic and rebellious".

I have been teaching for 30 years. My experience includes 7 countries, private and state sector and ages 3-19. I have been passionate about new ideas to make education relevant. I have followed many new ideas such as a Ken Robinson,. Sugatra Mitra, Howard Gardner and especially John Hattie. Alex Beard articulates my beliefs far better than I could. I will watch this again and again, and am reading his book.
Se aprecia a todas luces la buena intención de Alex, sin embargo en oportunidades no basta la buena intención para ser efectivo y eficiente en su cometido. Quizás si comenzara por intentar responder a la pregunta “¿Para qué enseñar?” podría estructurar un discurso más acorde a la realidad que estamos viviendo y a lo que se avecina.
