Yes, I didn't realize at the time what Commissioned meant to gospel. I didn't know how much I loved them until my church sister told me that Commissioned was the only gospel group in which I had all of their tapes and CDs.

This guy wasn't even born yet!...When Commissioned came out in "1984"...The creation of this piece absolutely blows my mind!...Phenomenally, Ingenious is only a few adjectives I can describe this re-creation, and reinventing of Commissioned...

My Brother, never has there a more fitting tribute to this timeless group, my love of Commissioned is personal, I got saved in 1986, at a very turbulent time in my life, my world was turned upside down due to a imploding marital situation. I was listening to Michael Matthews radio show one Sunday morning at work and heard this group whose music and ministry spoke to the core of my issues, i immediately became a devoted follower because every song spoke healing to everything I was going thru. I love traditional gospel, but when I was"in the world" I played bass and also loved upbeat contemporary bass lines and hearing Fred play like he played to the message of their music won me forever, being a Detroit native as well sealed the deal for me. i often rode the Woodward bus to work with earphones on plugged into a WALKMAN cassette playing any or all of the songs you just honored. My greatest moment was being at Wonderland Music across from Northland Mall with a friend, when the entire group walked in and I found out my friend grew up with the entire group, needless my jaw was on the floor , but my spirit soared, this will always be the greatest gospel group ever put together, hands down. Lies! I'm serving notice to all of the brothers on this thread that I AM the biggest Commissioned fan. I have ALL of their tapes, CD and or Albums. I wrote them a letter when I was 19 with a prayer request and God answered my prayer by way of a MIRACLE. I have seen them several times in concert in person. And I made a Holy Pilgrimage back in 2000 to the Studio - Studio A - check their album, tape CD credits to where they recorded many of their major early hits. Yes! I just showed up unannounced and I got the producer who was working there at the time I believe it was a white man to let me in. He took me and showed me the very both they recorded in. I took pics outside and everything. #CommissionedFanForLyfe #BowDown

OMG I was in the kitchen and I heard this playing and I thought this was Commissioned. I've been listening since I was a teenager in the 80's I promise to God I thought this was them. The ENTIRE GROUP! Wow you are tight man!
