I haven't provided dpc since it has been 30 years old.but what wonders me is that how the inner side of the inner staircase wall is damped.we can see the dampness to certain height from each step.what corrective course can we take

In the outer side walls of bathrooms also same damage happens.

You mentioned about capillary action and need for damp proofing. But never mentioned about how to make DPC. I think it's most relevant. I think the best method of DPC is to build plinth beam as a wall. Floor concreting shall end at the level of lower part of plinth beam so that after tiling around 10 cm of the inside wall will be the plinth beam, upon which we fix the skirting. Hope Er. Pavan will clarify it in the next video.

What you said is correct theoretically...! But practically impossible. The reason is the obstruction of bottom of doors/openings from one area to the other. How will it look, if the "bottom" of every door lifted up by 75 to 100mm...? Won't it be an obstruction for the easy movement in rooms...? Otherwise the solution is to maintain the floor level at par with the "raised" level...means the rcc belt and the pcc floor at same level, with rich concrete added with appropriate waterproofing compound. What do I do at my site is to lay a polythene sheet (generally using for polyhouse for vegetation) just above rcc belt and pcc floor prior to raise the wall masonry. It stops the capillary action of water.

If you paint the external wall it will occure. If you do snowcem or white wash there are pores for escaping the moisture to the atmosphere.
