Been literally eating and drinking these videos. No price could be worth content and insights being shared here. From my heart I deeply appreciate this charming woman. Her kind, compassionate nature really shines through in all these videos. I wonder what it'd be like working under you ma'am. Just starting UX/UI at over 30, I'm curious to know what opportunities are actually out there for people like us. Thanks for everything ma'am.

i'm about to start my journey as well, sitting here grateful for this because people before our time did not have these opportunities ... lets kill it !!

this is great, one comment I like to make is... When hiring a UX designer I like seeing the end result first and then the work that went into it. I don't necessarily think of it as a UI vs. UX designer thing. Having said that just a snipped. A high gloss mockup of some sort. I don't like it when it's just research, low fidelity that reaches to a high gloss mock up in the end. Its not a suspense movie. There is no cliffhanger.

This is the best advice I have ever heard, thank you for your precious time. I highly recommend watching it.

Yeah but she's saying that when a HM is looking at candidate portfolios, their choices for readability and functionality is valued more than aesthetic.

Is it wise to put your portfolio website ("if i built it from scratch") in the project..?

What is the best space to share my portfolio because I work almost everything on Figma and it offers the option to share it but prototypes can't be included on Behance... I also have a PDF but again that is not a possible way to try a prototype.

Can you let me know how these portfolio is made?

I did a couple of UX design courses included the one from CareerFoundry and some suggest to do storyboards to explain the challenges or pain points on the case studies. I found a website where you can make easily storyboards but I keep finding in every UX design portfolio review here in KZread that not even one has a story board included. What is your advice? Should I discard the storyboards idea?

Just because no one else does it doesn't mean you shouldn't. If it helps you showcase the problem or the solution better, you should do it. P.S: Move away from just apps and websites. There are other things you can add in your portfolio that can make you stand out.

Less than 7 minutes into this video, if you don't mind a bit of "feedback," it appears Ms. Scarano may be a bit UX biased? No? Is that unfair? So, I wonder then, what if your talents are more UI centric like Mr. Starr (portfolio 1) and less UX centric? She clearly liked Mr. Starr's work, but I don't know. Sorry mate, but it didn't appear she thought you were balanced enough... After watching the entire video, the last two portfolios seemed to me to showcase heavy UX skills vs UI skills, and so I saw that Dee's energy went way up, but not so much on portfolio 1... Hey, it's okay if she's more of a UX person and less of a UI person - as such, but this video is title "UX/UI Design Portfolio Reviews..." and all I think I watched was UX portfolio reviews and... well, there you are. If I'm being honest... For what it's worth. Nevertheless, tremendous information as always, Ms. Scarano. :)

How do I create an effective portfolio if I have no experience and I am at the stage of looking for a job as a UX/UI junior? Please help 😕

@@amddesign I know. I'm a junior. My advice is to take a large project, something that's more unique than traditional food delivery app or something. Dabble with new technologies. For example, I'm revamping my portfolio and I'm working on something with Conversational UI. Stand out and make your projects cool.
