When using alcohol or a lighter/torch on UV Resin it is always best to allow the resin to sit under a lid for 5-15 mins before curing. Typically I use the top of an old jewelry/shoe box. Just depends on how many(big) the item(s) are. As long as you make sure the lid is free of debris, you’re good to go. The reason for this is to make sure all the bubbles have time to rise and pop before curing. Hope this helps someone! 💜☺️

@@CatarinaQuei You’re very welcome.😃
A torch can weld your resin to your mold and ruin the project and the mold, a bbq lighter will pop bubbles without the danger of flash curing it to the silicone and ruining the mold.
Oh my gosh….. I have been looking for someone who would give a quick, EXCELLENT description of how to get started with the DO’s and DONT’s of getting started with resin. I’m absolutely thrilled you popped up on my KZread feed this morning 🎉🎉🎉🎉. Thank you , YAY YAY YAY ❤
Yes, I've made the mistake of not using a clear mold and putting too much colorant in. Thanks for an honest video and tips! We're all learning and we learn from mistakes!
I am just getting started working with resin and found your video very helpful. Thanks so much. Look forward to watching your other offerings.
If you are thinking about learning Illustrator, Oak& Lamb has an Awesome course!!! Easy to follow videos!
Just started getting into resin art as a way to de stress and relax as I try to go on disability. I’m glad I found your channel 😊 I actually have already been following all these steps already and have a lil station set up in the living room now that we are slowly adding to as we can. I’m excited to watch your tips as I make stuff too
Your enthusiasm is contagious, I love your video's....
Thank you so much for the awesome tips. I’ve been using too much mica powder to my uv resin so it would sometimes leak and not cure at all. I really appreciate the great video! 😊💜

I definitely saved your video. Thank you for all the information. I've been a major crafter for years but brand-new to resin. I make beaded jewelry and noe learning to make resin pendants. So in love with my new craft. ❤ Just subscribed. Thank you.
Thanks for this great video as always good advice and tip, info which is very helpful! Hugs Liz x
I just added resin pigment to uv resin for effects I've seen on youtube. For whatever reason, the resin will not cure once the pigment has been poured in. Just watched your entire video and learned that my mistake was probably putting too much pigment into the resin. Thank you! Very professional and helpful!
I have 3 different lights for my resin and one is a flashlight that I use to keep the resin stable and unable to flow until put under the lamp. Thanks for all the useful info.

I totally do this too 😊 sometimes to halt flow and other times to double up on uv power on awkward angles and where “extra boost uv” seems to help setting when using thicker/colored moulds

@@supwack are you saying that you apply the resin to say a curved area and then quickly cure it before it has a chance to run? i've tried this but it is so tricky! my results are mixed.
I seem to use the wrong size light! Didn't think there was a big difference so I usually use the big one lol, thanks! 🌹
I love your lamb logo.
No UV light needed. I just set mine in the sun and it cures perfectly
I am using it

I use a UV/LED light that is for gel nail polish for my resin! It has a large area for projects that need more uv light.

If you take a CLEAR plastic storage tub and flip it upside down over your project and set your uv lamp on top of the tub it kinda magnifies the area being cured because it's able to be held at a steady distance from your project... like a flashlight effect on a wall... make sense? Thats how I cure larger items and sometimes I can fit multiples under the tub and it keeps dust and hair from getting in it. And if your like me and walk away like you've got A.D.D. randomly you want your stuff covered anyway just in case its not finished under the lamp. I do this with 2 part resin too!!
Thank you so much for this video I am just starting making keychains and I am so glad I saw this video before I started.
I do use a uv flashlight but only to keep the resin from going over the edge until I have finished the 2nd piece of jewelry then I use the new dbl led light with the shelf in the middle.
Hey there! I find your videos AWESOME and think you are a talented and personable craft whiz. On top of that, your charming and welcoming tone make it feel like I am watching a family member's video. I just wanted to say that it would be helpful if you were a little more informative when giving tips. For example, you mentioned that using a little rubbing alcohol in a squirt bottle would decrease surface tension and help bubbles rise, so I tried it and it worked great! However, you didn't mention that you need to let the alcohol fully evaporate before curing. It turned out wonky my first time, no bubbles, but cloudy. I looked it up and found that the alcohol needed to evaporate before curing to maintain resin integrity and surface quality. Your advice led to to a great new technique (and I LOVE it), but with a little more detail, I wouldn't have ruined a (albeit, small) project and had to do extra research. Conciseness with quick details around each point would make you a one-stop shop!
Hi thank you so much for the information it is really helpful, so the big problem I have is that my piece is curing on the surface but not the center (liquid center) I drop the resin in a metallic frame. my question is does the surface that you work on make any difference? like does it have to be withe or light color to work?
I would like to see you guys cover printable vinyl on pen an using uv resin
Can you demonstrate examples of UV resin mistakes? Thank,
Great video, thank you . Can you please answer a question, I paint rocks , and after they are dry , I put a resin on them and use a light , I’m going to buy the resin you talked about J Diction , do you always need to use a blue light or does the resin dry on its own ?
I’m using the JD brand to seal vinyl wrap tumblers (I know not ideal but this is the best solution for me right now with very limited space). I just made my first tumbler but I’m having issues where it’s getting lumpy and bumpy as I’m trying to coat the tumbler like it’s “crystallizing” I guess you could say. Any idea how I can prevent this or fix it before curing?
Mine are coming out leaving film in my trays which cause the trays to not release the pieces as well. I've been told to use something to coat the mold first like Vaseline but I'm still struggling 😩
Is an 84W light too much? That’s what I was recommended. Thx
What about heat gun for pipping bubbles?
I have made many keychains in bezels using it resin. They come out beautiful but the last 2 after 2-3 weeks the resin melted and ruin the pc. They were made for the same person and I am baffled. Can you help? Thank you in advance 😊
If flashlights are fine for what I use the resin for ( coating pendants )
The recommended UV Resin as far as i know is not available in the UK
My resin always thick n have to warm it up it up before I use it
Yeah I had those deep blue molds nothing hardened😢 so mad. But there r no molds like teeth for your dentist friends or your state no clear molds😊

Hey can you use uv resin as a top coat over two part resin to seal in a uv gel polish design. I am having a problem with top coating my uv gel polish after I design art on top of two part resin. It has been bubbling. Any help would be great.
I have a bottle of JDiction UV Resin and I can barely get it out of the bottle. I have unclogged the tip. Do you have any idea why it on't' comes out so hard?
@Redrose50991

Put in in a cup of hot water for a few minutes and it should thin it out enough to come out. Colder it is thicker it is.
Why are so many bubbles coming up after I cure? It looks great before I put under the light and bubbles come out easily with a torch but once it goes under tons of bubbles pop up all over
No mistakes because just starting to work with resin.
Is it possible to put an item under a light for too long? If it’s still sticky can you keep putting under the light for like 6 min?

Best fix for tacky resin is a water cure. Place tacky item in a clear glass of water and cure piece again while underwater.
I am having issues with yellowing after several months. Do you know of anything to fix this issue.
Also if you're light is too much it can lead to bowing!
What about tiny bubbles on the bottom of the molds? Or tiny ones stuck in crevices?

Use a silicone stick to run around the edges gently to loosen any bubbles clinging down in the corners
UV resin is great as in it cures really quickly but you're not telling people that it's super expensive when compared to epoxy resin for anything bigger than jewellery.
After I use uv light it creat bubble from nowhere blz is there any fix for that !!!
Hi i have a good uv light well it has a turntable that came with it 3D UV printer I think it's called,, it had a powerful uv light that can cure from across the room but the problem I have is the resin it's self it comes out of the bottle thick with jelly looking pieces through it,, I've tryed standing it in an old container of hot water, it loosened it up but wouldn't mix with inks very well, making it sticky even after curing longer,, I've been trying to save my resin as it can be expencive,, but I'm just not getting anywhere with it,, then I bought a new clear pendent mould and after doing one pendent it came out wrapped and slightly bent. And only have the one room to work from,, and have my doors open when working with it making sure our cats are out,, I've made large moulds an octopus with 2 part apoxy,, never had a problem, and tryed so many uv resins still can't get a cheap but good quality uv resin,, well that's the problem I'm having with the uv resin hope you can help ,,sorry for long comment but I thought it was important to let you know, have a great week❤😊

That light is far too strong. Something under 36 watts like a nail light or a UV flashlight in the 365-395 nm range would be much better.

Can you please send me a uv light link that ships internationally from Amazon Prime? The link here does not ship to Brazil. 😢
Can you use sunlight to cure? I just started, and I do have a beefy UV flashlight with a lithium battery, but it is still slightly tacky after I cure. I then have been taking the item out to sunlight for a few minutes to get a more complete cure. Anyone else do that? Actually I have been using UV resin for at least a couple of years as a glue to fix things around the house, and just realized you can use it for crafting projects as well. Also, I want to encourage everyone to protect your vision when using UV lamps and flashlights. You don't want to harm your vision!

........... Omg. Okay.. Okay........ Well I am a year into Resin stuff and sometimes I had to doom some pieces. It turned out that I never had a good outcome. I always used UV Resin for dooming. And I bought cheap ones from China, from Amazon and an expensive one from a german Website. Every piece had streaks... It looks clear but when you hold it into lights.. you'll see them. Plus it never feels hard, not like my "normal" resin. It's not sticky or soft but it feels just different. And I use an old nail uv lamp (dont not if LED or just UV) from.. 12 years ago.. Back then I discovered doing my nails with uv gel polish. Is it possible that my problem is my lamp? Holy.. I need to buy a new one and find out!
