Congrats on the move! I left CA back in 2019 and I do not miss it for a second... It is always there to visit if you need to, but sometimes life really is greener on the other side. Utah is an amazing state, no question about it.

Glad you're back Travis. Seems Utah is working out well so far. For being off the bike for 3 months, you didnt seem to struggle too badly. That is a long time, as far as confidence and comfort with the bike is concerned.

Right on Travis!! Now you are talking my kind of trail riding!! While I enjoy your crazy hard core rock crawl videos of past, this kind of riding is actually much more fun. Of course I'm 62 so you can understand where I'm coming from. So glad to see you back in the saddle and having fun my man. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Travis. I'm going to offer you some friendly advice. You are always giving advice to other riders on where to go, how to traverse a particularly difficult stretch, and helping other riders by pulling their bikes when they are stuck etc. These are excellent traits. But, whenever someone offers to help you when you could use some help, you shoo them away and say you've got it handled. Let your riding companions help you. Always offering advice and a helping hand but constantly refusing the same generosities when offered to you, comes off as being rather rather aloof.

Do some people want or need help, yes. Are there times where I need help, definitely yes. But I don’t want to take it unless I NEED it. I want to get back to racing and doing things where I won’t be able to rely on others to help me When I’m out doing tours or helping new riders I pay attention to how tired they are, their frustration levels, and if they are having fun. I want to make sure they can complete the ride and that they have a good time doing it so they want to come back. Same with tips, if I can lend some advice I’m happy to I appreciate the insight

@@EverySingleSunday Good answer, but it is the psychological effect of altruism over acceptance. By allowing those less skillful than yourself (and you are clearly an advanced rider) to help you ever so slightly on occasion, you increase the pleasantness of their experience as well as giving them a stronger sense of ability and confidence. It's all a mind game. All one need do from time to time is reframe the scenario. Great channel. I truly enjoy watching them. Come to Laos and visit me. We'll ride the length of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. It is a unique and historical ride.

i have a buddy that does adventure bikes, but the trails by my house are fast two track, flowy berm style two track, and we have a bunch of ST that can weave up into the hills and through rock sections. not to mention a couple of decent hill climbs…. if you did the ST front and back, that’s most of a day. i like to mix things up, and try to ride a little of all of it. plus, i have a 1.1 mile ST lap track that is mostly small obstacle after obstacle, so it isn’t really fast, but it’s really fun.
