Utah Motorcycle Trip - EP6: Burr Trail

Episode 6 picks up as I turn onto the Burr Trail, heading south to north. The ride is through very rugged and remote country, through a portion of Capitol Reef NP, and ends at the Burr Trail Switchbacks.

    Amazing ride Sir! Thanks for taking us along! I was thinking to myself, "I hope no Tuscan Raiders decide to shoot at the bike while he's riding through!"😆😆😆

    The only other vehicle I saw on the burr trail all the way from bullfrog to boulder was….. a KTM.

    Uhhh, yeah you do need to ride down there! If you like this ride, you'll really like some of the other stuff coming up. All I can think about is getting back to ride Utah again.

    @@Tiger993 I have a 2017 Suzuki V-Strom 650. It's not the beast your KTM is, but I think it'll be a good bike for this area.

    @@1767SR yes the 1290 is a beast, but I'm hoping the next trip will be on my 250 dual sport! The smaller the bike, the more the fun in Utah 😁 I asked for a reason though: If you liked Burr Trail, you'll think Shafer Trail is flippin' unbelievable, if you haven't already seen it. I will have video of it coming up in a few episodes. 👍

    Great Video!! That's a ride I would love to. Please answer a question I have. How much Chain Maintenance do you do now that you have a bike with a chain? Thank you

  • @Tiger993

    @Tiger993

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks and glad you like it :) I keep my chains very clean and don't allow gunk to accumulate. I also stay away from the oily/waxy/sticky types of lube. This makes the chain easier to clean and requires less elbow grease to maintain it. On this trip, I lubed it at the end of every day. That takes about 3 minutes to do, including unpacking the small can of spray lube. In addition to that, I did a couple degreasing/cleanings while on the trip as well. I probably spent 30 minutes on the first, and 10 minutes on it the second time. That's all I did over a 4,000 mile trip.

    What tires you have for this portion?

    I had a fairly new set of Dunlop Trailmax Missions. Any tire would have done fine though. It was essentially a gravel road, well graded without any loose stuff.
