You will get past it, trust me. your story sounds like mine, I was hung up on my first love for over 10 years. I never thought I'd ever love someone again, until one day I just did. Met someone who swept me off my feet and I'm now married to. Things will get better, just believe it will. This song really was the saddest song for me for the longest time, until I was able to get past it. My first love always still has a place with me, but I'm no longer hung up on it. If anything, it taught me to never let go of something that was truly special. It made me a better person to my wife. I hope this helps.
