unfortunately a prime example of high floor, low ceiling. skill is already high and unlikely to improve, and physical attributes are sorely lacking. as the competition gets better the skill gap will decrease as will her dominance.

Like Ronaldinho, like Messi, (unlike CR7 😁), she doesn’t look for the easy penalty when she gets clipped. She’s willing to take on 2 and 3 defenders and go for the goal, rather than the dive.

If they do, they'll have Italy and Norway . If they dont, it'll be much tougher, with Sweden , Spain and Holland. So it all depends on Holland finishing top and Usa second.

Although the games were close ( it always is between top ten teams ) it does show that were / are playing the same style they always have been. Get the ball, rush forward, score fast. While that works, and works well against low teams , try that against top ten sides, they'll soak up the pressure, pass it around, wait for a gap, and slice you in half. The Usa are fit. Very fit, very fast, very attack minded. They need to pass it around , be patient. A game could be won or lost on a single goal. Running around at high speed , on its own, wont win you games. I'm ignoring the politics because i dont care. Just the football.

I just watched Pele's highlights today because he died. Very underwhelming and boring. Sophia Smith is so much better to watch. far more skilled than other women, 5'5" and slow though....thankfully that stuff doesn't matter in the women's game. she's probably good enough to make a competent high school boy's team, you know, not a state's winning side, but one that makes their local division playoffs. that puts her top 10 all time women's players, high praise.
