USS Slater - Destroyer Escort at War: Episode Two - The Ensigns of Command

Ойын-сауық

In this limited military history documentary series, we explore the USS Slater, one of only five surviving US Destroyer Escort vessels from World War II.
In this second episode, we delve into the world of the officers of the USS Slater, from the junior officers, to the Executive Officer, to the Captain. We take a look at their cabins and explore the ward room, which could be a dining room in quiet times, or a place to conduct life-saving surgery during battle.

Very interesting details of Navy life. I was in the Army, but my Navy buddies ALWAYS had the best 'tall tales'! Life at sea....EVERYTHING is different.

I have s question. What exactly is, and where's the normal location of the CLIP SHACK? I've heard references to it when talking about the old four pipers.

That Nautical picture is BS. It shows wooden decks. Destroyers do NOT have wooden decks.

That's fair, but it's AI-generated art to make for a visually attractive thumbnail, which are often difficult to get exactly right, and also it's more intended to convey the theme and narrative of the episode overall rather than spite to 100% accuracy. So, yes, some creative license with the thumbnail, but the video footage itself is completely real and accurate.
