Sometime in the near future I will be featuring his I - 400 Japanese submarine in 1/48 scale. The detail is spectacular

My family is from a small mining town in Arizona and my grandfather was on a Destroyer in Pearl when the attack happened. He was a firefighter and said it took 3 days to put out the fire. Of course the first day was it burning at over 1800 degrees and there were still some explosions going off. Also, they removed all her guns except for the turret that ended up along side of the ship, and put those on the Nevada. The oil that leaks is called the Black tears of Arizona and they say she will cry long after all sailors who served on her are returned and their ashes are with the Ship.

Fantastic models! Research has shown that the Arizona was painted sea blue with red on top of the turrets and not a medium / dark gray gray as was thought for years. Notice the color of the anchor at the video's 1:50 mark. The masts above the stack height were painted a light gray. Please make a video describing in detail how these models were made. I'd love to attempt to replicate one of them.

Hi! I found the work superb. But one aspect baffled me. The color of brown water? I'm looking at several color photos taken today and even those from the time show me the blue sea. I wonder why the illustrious artist made the sea more brown! Could you explain? A hug!

Thank you for watching and thank you for commenting! Yes I can explain. The attack on Pearl Harbor caused a lot of disturbance in the bed of the floor. Keep in mind that Pearl Harbor is a shallow Anchorage. There is a great picture taken from directly above Battleship row after the battle and you can see how muddy the harbor looks particularly in the area of Battleship row

He had built both of these many years ago before there was any information brought to light about that. In fact the reason the before Arizona is in such disrepair and doesn't have all of its details is because he was tearing it apart to rebuild it and paint the turret tops. I am currently in the process of building a much more accurate 1/350 scale Arizona and Vestal combo. We will be looking at that on the channel sometime in the spring.

Since Arizona was in division 1 the forward turrets were painted red. The Nevada and Oklahoma were both in the same division hence their forward tourists were red as well. The Arizona was of the first section so it's rearmost to it was painted red the Nevada was of the second section hits rearmost her it was painted white and the Oklahoma was of the third section so it's room most to it was painted blue.

They were going to use 2 of the. Turrets, with their guns for coastal defense batteries. One was going to be called battery Pennsylvania. The other was going to be called battery Arizona. They only got one of them finished completely before the end of the war. And I can't remember off the top of my head, which one, but I believe it was on the North Shore. Somewhere.

Dick fist was the Marine Corps bugler onboard the USS West Virginia for captain bennion. Dick also served on Iwo Jima. After attending the service he myself and John devirgilio went over and visited the USS Utah

These old 1/426 scale Revell kits of the USS Arizona were for many years the only ones available. The kit was in fact originally created to raise funds for the construction of the USS Arizona Memorial with a portion of each sale donated to that cause so they were widely sold worldwide and have been repeatedly re-released in the years since. I had one 40 years ago that I 'inherited' from my older adoptive brother which got slowly blasted to bits in the many childhood battles which occurred on my bedroom floor. I then bought one myself in my late 20's before the 1/350th and 1/200th scale versions were released in more recent years so it has since resided in the parts tub for some years now after its place in my display case was assumed by these larger scale kits.
