People have said that Usopp's fight with Luffy was out of character because it was so even, but these people forget one key thing about that fight. It was the first fight where Usopp wasn't afraid for a second.

When I first saw Ussop run away from the Tontattas, I thought it was a huge step back in his character development, bur then I realized that was the point. Robin had just been turned into a toy, and it was as if she had never existed, that takes away from Ussops mind Eines Lobby as well as the driving force behind the formation of Sogeking

No stop spreading that around. Sugar's fruit was never explained like that. Believing that reverts his character to pretimeskip stripping him from all the character development he already received. The tontatta scene is only good because of everything he went through previously.

I wouldn't say I'm 100% on board with Usopp having Conqueror's Haki, but him having the strongest version of Observation Haki, to the point where he was seeing the future and spirits instinctively, before even knowing how to control the regular version of it, I could believe.

Plus just the way he would handle it would be funny, cuz its Usopp.

In my opinion, Usopp is already the bravest warrior of the sea alongside with Nami, because he's not strong as others and he knows it. But he acts despite of his fear of death to help his friends and protect them. He's smart, creative and inventive. He is the closest to any regular person in real world.

Dressrosa always sits for me as one of the best character moments in One Piece, because of the pure stroke of genius in the writing. Because of Sugar devil fruit Robin becoming a toy wiped the memory of Sogeking for Usopp. It was that fact that he regained an immense amount of Self-doubt that he was able to overcome, and its always funny that when he does he gets revered as a King or God.

The way that Usopp overcomes his own weaknesses in fights and just in general makes it clear to me that he *will* become a brave warrior of the sea.

Usopp is my favorite character in fiction. I have no doubt he is a conqueror. He’s always been brave. Because he is afraid and always thinks he will die but does what he needs to anyway.

He is my favourite too. About the conq. haki, He doesnt need it. Why would you need a king haki, if you ve already been GOD? But, i would be excited too if he has it

At first I didn’t like Usopp but after a while I realized he’s one of the most important characters in One Piece. His(sniper king’s) action that declared war on the world government speaks volumes to his hidden importance.

When you think about the way conquerors haki works, like a king or a warlord or somebody very strong defeating you with a glance, the fact that most people don't actually understand how strong usopp is fits into that. He so perfectly convinces you that he is stronger than you; he's able make an impression on you that he is much stronger than than he actually is.

Besides Zoro I have to say Usopp is one of my favorite characters and I strongly agree with you about how Usopp is more like a regular human being in the crew and because we can relate with Usopp we get attached to the character but some people may not like Usopp but In my opinion definitely in my top three favorite One Piece characters.

You are missing the most crucial part. Rogers crew were laughing at Laughtale because they saw the huge door blocking the treasure which could only be opened using Ussop's nose.

@Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima This idea of “Pirate King” level crew is headcanon. There’s no difference between what Luffy and his crew will be against the WG and Whitebeard/Shanks. It stems from the idea that Yonko and Admirals have to be equal for some reason even though there’s no 0 feats or portrayal for that. Quite the opposite actually when you have a significantly nerfed Yonko still getting the better of the strongest Admiral. Garp is the only Marine ever stated to definitively be on the level of top pirates and he wasn’t an Admiral. When the Admirals are called the Marine’s greatest force it’s quickly added that Sengoku is above them so they’re not really the greatest force. Garp is above Sengoku so there’s gonna be someone above Akainu. Possibly Koby becoming the new generation Garp which will be another crazy rise to power

@@KurokamiNajimi Not really. Whitebeard is still stated to be the strongest man in the world at the start of the war, meaning NERFED whitebeard is at bare minimum, Yonko level. This guy was so strong that it took dying from disease/age to nerf him down to the level of Yonkos. He's also stated to be Roger's Rival. So Whitebeard is actually the perfect example of someone who is Pirate King level. Someone who needs to be nerfed to be Yonko level. Garp was in fact stronger than the three admirals, as he was stated in an SBS to be the strongest marine at marineford. But now Akainu is the fleet admiral, so it's very possible he's gotten stronger since the TS as well. We won't know how strong Koby will be in the end war though.

Marco highlighted how his condition must be worsening since he normally would be able to dodge a sneak attack even if it was from an ally. Whitebeard himself thinks to himself how he can’t be the strongest forever. He needed Jozu to help against Aokiji, then he had a heart attack against Akainu and let fodder Marines gang up on him. Kizaru was dominating him, couldn’t even use his King’s Haki to save Ace. Not only was he not the strongest at that point but he was even weaker than his Commanders. The reason he got the better of Akainu towards the end is because of his rage. I agree that Garp was (and still is until further notice) the strongest Marine there but I haven’t found any quotes from Oda saying that

I actually want Usopp to become a super strong member. Like give him future sight, conquerors, or literally any huge power up.

I honestly hate to say it but I can see Usopp sacrificing himself near the end of the series and having his final words being along the lines of "I finally did it. I finally became a brave warrior of the sea." Don't get me wrong Usopp is my fave straw hat but I can see Oda writing something devastating like this later on despite rarely killing off characters

You should know by now Oda is more complex ontop of that, Usopp through his journey is only getting braver and braver, One Piece stampede movie for example, he saved Luffy and was very brave even had a near death experience. A usopp death is not needed. Its just his confidence change which defines his dream.

the best line in all of Dressrosa is when Usopp returns to save the Tontatas and says: “I’m not your hero, but I’m going to become him right now.” that line alone highlights his development for me as one of the best characters in fiction

My heart is always gonna be for usopp.

He is one of the guys with the strongest lategame Potential imo. I wish he gets a broken "sniper haki", surpasses his dad, win the love of his life and tell TRUE STORYS from then on

Usopp and Zoro are the only Straw Hats with Roles and Dreams directly related to combat. Swordsman and Marksman. Zoro wants to be the strongest. Usopp wants to be the Bravest. Conqueror's Haki, especially being lied about twice by Usopp is definitely on the table. When Usopp Conqueror's his own fear once and for all, we will get a top 3 badass moment in One Piece.

I think whatever will happens in elbaf when the strawhats get their, Usopp will stay in Elbaf for like half of or the entirety of the next arc after it.

Manu, just for the record, your channel and the insights you share are gold. I've read One Piece manga twice and am now I'm watching the whole animated series. I've started reading it when I was 11 years old and am 33 now, One Piece not only helped me develop my character, I'd say it is the core of it. Just hope to one day shake hands with you. I like the idea of Usopp having his dream title of being the bravest warrior of the sea. But what if they face an unexpected enemy in Elbaph, and the whole crew gets defeated or caught at some point, then he's the only survivor and plan something to rescue the straw hat with the grand fleet to lead them and finally be the bravest warrior? Finally, maybe a rumor of him fighting Luffy the future pirate king before?

no, what i want one of these 2 options: 1. crew gets defeated and taken away while usopp was doing something else with the giants and he has to save them. the giants ask if they should help him since it's a great enemy like the marines but usopp refuses and walks there by himself menacingly and defeats his opponents in one way or another with a power up like future sight and sniping them before they can react or conquerors haki or coating his bullets with arnament haki and showing that he grew. if he leans on others like the giants then it's not usopp that did it but the giants. 2. luffy and some other members get caught by a strong enemy and the rest of the crew, preferably brook franky chopper nami and obviously usopp stay behind in the ship or something or hang out with the giants and usopp without making any gags or some other shit takes command and acts like the captain he used to always want to be back then and maybe even unlocks conquerors haki. he shows how he can be somoene you can trust

Fitting since Usopp used his hammer both as melee weapon and projectile. He could use a mighty hammer to throw or bash heads in with.

I really want to see Usopp become absolutely epic. Out of all the characters in the story him becoming truly brave and strong would have the largest impact. He is the most relatable character for normal people.

I love this theory because most people go on about how ussop “doesn’t need to be strong to be brave” but I feel like strength is one of many qualities that are necessary for ussop to accomplish his dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea also he doesn’t just wanna be brave but he also wants to be a warrior

its not needed to be brave, but it is needed to be a warrior. bravery will come when he overcomes his fear, warrior comes when he alone takes out a strong opponent.

Remember that being brave is not the absence of fear but the facing of fear. With that in mind, Usopp is the crew member who has been brave most often.

It would be very balanced because he'll have to use his incredible vision to compensate for his lack of speed and durability. He dodges all attacks, but if one heavy blow lands on him, he's K.O.

I like the Idea, he could shoot anyone and avoid all attacks. Some armament haki on his attacks would make them also stronger. Why not advanced and royal. I would have loved him to get the raid suit aswell or some of its technology but it seems unlikely now...

Let's see if you actually already unlocked a god tier future sighting kenbunshoku haki. Leaving this here to get reminded.

I love Usopp so much because when he fights against an opponent (for example luffy). Because he isn't all that strong physically he has to optimize everything through strategy and that is what I like the most about fights. When it's more than just punches.

Usopp deserves so much, I don't care if people find him annoying. He is apart of the crew and should be able to get stronger to protect his found family. Plus I do really like all of the crew and want all of them to be able to be strong and courageous.

I think ussop is going to be the 4th strongest in the crew after elbaf. My reasons for saying this are this: Everyone knows how Ussop’s lies most of the time come true throughout the series and back in saboday after their timeskip, he said to nami that he will no longer be in the weak trio and fight along luffy, zoro and sanji as equals. This could possibly indicate a possible foreshadow by oda but then who knows

But didn't oda state that usopp will always be the weakest of the crew. I think he will become much stronger but Idt he will be the 4th strongest member but I am guessing he will have the strength of a shichibukai.

@@himanky2226 oda is a pro troller. no one can 100% believe him for everything he said 😂. i mean, he dragged people to believe that an important person will come at chapter 1000 (by how he introduced important characters in some symbolic chapter's number like 1,100 and 500). he even troll us for luffy's true potential power for more than 2 decades 🤣

IMO: the greatest Usopp lie is the respect for his father. I believe Usopp hates Yasopp and lied about it so far.

While I think that would definitely be neat, it doesnt really make sense for Usopp's character. He loves being a pirate, and that's entirely based on his father. If it wasnt for Yasopp, he would never have gotten to be a strawhat, and I imagine Usopp has a great deal of respect for Yasopp because of that.

Just noticed that both Perona and Sugar that got beaten by Usopp had a crown on the head, and Loki was once shown in shadows with what looks like a crown over his head.

The whole one piece story is being told to us by Usopp's advance observation haki! He saw all of this with his future sight.

God Usopp will finally stop holding back in every fight let's goo!!

A lot of people want Usopp to get mjolnir personally I hope he gets Thor's belt instead In the myth it grants the user increased strength, if it works like Urouge's fruit it could allow him to bulk up combined with his bravery he could trick others into thinking he's stronger then he is

Him getting Thor's hammer could have been forshadowed by him using the plastic blow up hammer in Alabaster.

I won't lie. I can see Usopp's Conqourer's Haki manifesting as the ability to 'manifest' things. To give Truth to his lies. Illusions in a sense.

I really like Usopp and I hope he will get a great upgrade! I like trickster characters that can't count on hitting harder to win a fight but need to think and strategize, and I think Usopp would be great at that

usoop chcaracter is phenomenal. i got no time to give my whole analysis on his character but BASICALLY HE IS A REAL HUMAN BEING, AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES HIM PHENOMENAL. and thats main reason why water 7 is my fav arc

Not the most powerful observation Haki we've seen yet. I know it was never stated back then because we hadn't really gotten to Haki in-depth then but Blackbeards sniper was hitting targets well outside of visible range on calm open seas. That's almost definitely Observation Haki. Although yeah, That's likely set up to be a benchmark for Usopp to go beyond

Its crazy that Ohara's videos give me as much joy as a new One Piece chapter. That's GoD content right there.

Usopp is my single favourite character in the show, period! Luffy, Zoro and Sanji might be strong and courageous but it's Usopp that symbolises "Bravery" to me. When Luffy was faced by an insurmountable wall(Akainu)he could do nothing but surrender to his fate, Zoro and Sanji have their very same moments of self doubt even though they're super strong, however, Usopp who is always negative can still muster up enough courage to fight alongside his nakama who are downright monsters. His character growth from being just a liar in Syrup village to beating Chew, Perona and heck, even Sugar. Would've loved if he beat Page one in Wano but hey, he's got Elbaf.

Don't forget that he stood right infront of Kizaru, shooting him. While Kizaru was busy charging up to stomp Zoro. That's bravery right there. Knowing that Kizaru can wipe you out in an instant, but you still choose to help your friend.

Just going to point out. Luffy didn't "Surrender to his fate" with Akainu. His body broke down, he tried to move, his body literally just wouldn't let him. Which is understandable considering the only reason he could move at all was because of multiple doses of adrenaline from his dad's second in command. Zoro stands tall whenever there's an insurmountable wall in front of him as well. Hell that side of him is literally shown in the first arc against Mihawk. Zoro doesn't give up, or back down, he stands face forward, sword in hand and takes the strongest sword in the world to the best. Usopp can be brave without you trying to push the monster trio down to make him look good. If he's as cool as you want to think he is, his own merits alone should be able to show that.

@@theworstcatholic7247 nah, I wasn't trying to pull the monster trio down. Just was making a reference to Perona's ability and how it made even the monster trio stagger at her feet in misery. The monster trio as strong and brave as they are also have their own inner demons that they can't always fight themselves. I just find Usopp who isn't as physically gifted as the other three to be just as brave as they are really inspiring.

Why do I feel like that in the end of one piece, Usopp (now an old man) will be telling stories of his adventures to little kids in his village.

I'm still 3 mins in but I already feel emotional for Usopp and now understands his character. This is a very good video ty.

I'm gonna be honest, when i started reading one piece not too long ago because my friend zealously recommended it to me daily, i was not super sold on it after the first few arcs. But after arlong park, I was sold and ready for more. But besides the obvious main moments from that arc everyone remembers, one thing from there that stuck with me was Usopp's fight against the fishman. I love underdog characters so much and seeing that the cowardly, liar character have to man up and fight with just about everything against a literal monster, that should got me invested. And then I kept seeing it again and again. Because if you think about it, Usopp really is just a man in the one piece world and his crew are mainly powerhouses. But he still squares up with people way above his weight because he has to. But what makes this even more impactful is that he doesn't always win his fights. The main ones I remember were against Kuro at the start of the series, against the Franky family when he tried to strike out on his own in Water 7, and against Luffy in that same arc. I just got to the timeskip chapter and can't wait to see what else Usopp has in store for me. And of course, I'm just talking about his fights here but I think that he is also one of the most interesting characters to follow. And I feel like Water 7 and his fight in thriller bark highlighted this.

i remember feeling the same.. but ive been reading one peice from the start again and i loved those first arcs. maybe you should try reading those early arcs again. when things are in perspective, arcs like the baratie arc, the romance dawn arc and the orange town arc are a lot of fun to read through. the foreshadowing and being reminded how these characters were at the start was great. syrup village arc still sucks though haha.. except for the usopp stuff.

I do hope Usopp, Nami, Chopper and Brook get to beat someone strong before the inevitable showdown with the Blackbeard pirates. I thought Wano would showcase that for all the StrawHats, but those 4 didn't get proper fights to go all out.

I feel like Nami’s parents were weather researchers and were trying to find the ancient weapon Poseidon which literally means the sea and they could of been killed because of it. Which explains why Nami was found literally near a warzone with marines.

Luffy will be in recovery mode during Elbaf, I'd bet. Same with Zoro, leaving Sanji, Usopp, and maybe Yamato(if she joins) to handle things that come up.

@@davidortiz3094 Aye, ain't no one said he has to outshine his Captain, but he deserves to have a huge shining moment in the place that he's been wanting to go to since the very beginning of the manga. It'd be very damn fitting if he actually took a huge W and show his valor so he isn't just the 'cowardly sniper" trope anymore, he grows. That's what I'm hoping for anyway, I don't think Oda has disappointed with his narratives so far despite all these years. I think Usopp will be treated well.

@@OmegaSaiyanPrince Well Usopp need some new powerful attacks because currently, everything in his arsenal doesn't cut it. He doesn't have the offensive power to take out any powerful opponents. If not for Nami with Zeus, Ulti would have busted his head wide open.

Usopp also has the voice of all things and has one of the strongest conquerors haki like buggy. You can see them controlling massive armies.

God I'm looking forward to Elbaf. Usopp was one of my favorite characters in the series. I know I bring up Carrot a lot, but Usopp is still one of my all time favorites. I'm also a big fan of the theory that an older Usopp is the narrator of the series, even if I personally also think he could be the one Straw Hat to die.

Personally I see every strawhat being something special in the story towards the end of One Piece, but I think you made such a cool point that Usopp is legit the only human crew member. Everyone else has something about them even Nami. And it would just make so much sense for him to become a legend. Especially now that all his "lies" are legit.

it would be pretty cool if usopp was like zenitsu just that instead of what triggers power being sleep like zenitsu, usopp's powers trigger due to him lying or his disbelief in his potential. And when his opponent gets defeated he thinks its some crazy coincidence but actually it was due to his power alone.

just imagine Usopp doing an "Ikoku" against Big Mom's one with an explosive ball filled with conqueror's haki

I'm so hopeful for more usopp development, so far every usopp development has gobsmacked me, from his lies coming true and him being a prophet to him travelling with a god, to his sun mask during enies lobby in sogeking, to him being called a god or prophet on dressrosa, it's all building up to something and knowing usopp can eat a devil fruit along with other avenues he can grow in, he's got red haki but no armament or conquerors yet, so much potential for this character, nami basically has yonko level attacks with zeus now, every member of the strawhats has had a moment where they have been able to seriously show off their growth since the timeskip, only usopp is left behind in that and I really hope elbaff lets usopp take centre stage, or maybe a usopp/luffy buddy combo taking centre stage there.

Honestly im at the fishman island arc, basically just got to the time skip. And i love ussop, he's amazing. Water seven made me very depressed for awhile. Then when he came back i was so happy. He's one of my favorite characters in any show

When Usopp stops having self doubts, imagine how much of a beast he'll be. Not to mention how much of a tank he is. He may not be physically strong but it always feels good seeing him alive and stand after a brutal beating. Luffy - Conqueror's haki Zoro - Armament haki Usopp - Observation haki

The ironic thing is that you left out Jinbei and Sanji In the end possibly Sanji can get Conquerors aswell because he's still young and learning Jinbei and rest of the crew not likely Jinbei is a natural leader but man's also is a pacifist at heart so not likely Brook doesn't seem like a natural leader same as Franky Nami Robin Usopp n Chopper but I can see the straw hats pirates end game Luffy Zoro n Sanji with all 3 and each one specialize in one specific Haki type while Jinbei Usopp Robin will have 2 types and the others may have 1 but as of now Sanji is the only other straw hat I see possibly getting Conquerors if not then I wouldn't be surprised either

@@dcarnegie1992 I know. At the end of the story, I think that's what they will specialize in. You know how many people say Luffy specializes in conqueror's, Zoro in armament and Sanji in observation? I think the one who specializes in observation would be Usopp since he's a sniper
