Right? Even if she's powerful and guarded, all it takes is a freak accident, an act of God, or an encounter with Down D. Stairs would mean it's all over. Why did Mingo even need an army of toys? He's a freaking king. He should already have access to labor. If he needed to rely so much on Sugar, then he could have at least made a ledger of all the people he kidnapped.

IIRC: Sugar assumed the Hotsauce grape was (knockout?) poison, not Literal Inferno Breath. She kinda assumed he would keel over or pass out so she could do her toy thing. Instead she got a Screaming Flamethrower to her very flammable face.

First time I saw this I just exploded with laughter, Usopp scaring Sugar like that was just so unexpected 🤣🤣🤣

This is the Tortoise and the Hare of anime. Sugar could have easily just turned him into a toy right then and there. In the end, she was punished for her arrogance and Usopp was rewarded for his tenacity.

It's all fun and games until people realize what this actually meant for Dressrosa Sugar was basically turning the people of Dressrosa into toys, to the point where all they could do is obey orders and had no recollection of their past relationships or families (except Kyros), Usopp basically freed an entire nation from their suffering GOAT of the arc in my book

When they showed his new bounty at the end of the arc I was ROLLING.

Best save by Usopp.

It wasn't luffy it was god usopp that saved everybody

And thus, at this moment, we were blessed with the birth of the greatest deity there will ever be: "Go D Usopp".

All Sugar had to do was turn Usopp into a toy and the entire Dressrosa story would have (possibly) gone in Doflamingo’s favour. Her arrogance in trying to torture Usopp is what completely overturned Doflamingo’s decade-long empire.

Me when eating spicy stuff unnoticed because I don't tolerate spice at all:

I'm both completely astonished and totally unsurprised this is actually a scene in One Piece.

Usopp using haki during this arc was crazy

This is the only time in one piece that I can remember that I actually laughed very hard when it happened. Or I might be thinking of when he shot the bullet at her and it turned into the face he made here to knock her out again.

This was basically Usopp's Gear 5 in its total brilliance, only difference is that this man ate the Spicy-Spicy fruit which is also secretly called by the World Goverment the Pain-Pain fruit (Model God)

Off topic but what I like about one piece is that literally for every arc, the character that doesn’t seem that important ends up playing one of the biggest role in the arc

Let's be real, Sugar is OP AF. She could solo almost any other character in One Piece.

She ate it when she was 10 and stopped aging at that point, but she's actually 25; it's entirely possible she could have Haki, though judging from most examples we have, people with fruits as OP as hers tend to not bother learning Haki. It's a toss-up, especially since she was never shown in a situation that would have required her to use it.

Same. I have crazy tolerance to spicy food and even used it when kids would take some of my lunch. You want some of that? Sure! Just be careful because it has some spice. And then they get a mouthful of lava, absolutely loaded with burning hot sauce. They run away and go to spit, wash their mouth in the toilet sink, not knowing the best way to get rid of that particular spice is yoghurt. Then you think since my lunch is too hot, my afternoon snack is safe? Sike it is chilly/wasabi coated peanuts! Welcome to round 2 mf. I made them quit, permanently, in 3 days

Here's a pretty good detail to notice: prior to being scared, Sugar has her eyeglass in a perfect state, but at 0:45, when she screams and her eyes pop out, her glass breaks. If "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" has shown us alongside this, is that toon physics can be pretty dangerous if applied to everyday objects in reality.
