USMLE: Clinical Rotations (USCE) Masterclass
USCE(United States Clinical Experience) aka. Clinical Rotations in the US are a very important part of matching in the USMLE Journey. Carefully Researching and Selecting Electives specific to you is a very important step to match in your dream residency as an IMG. Keep in mind that a lot of good electives require a USMLE Step 1 score. So It's a good idea to give it first and then apply for electives.

Hi , really useful video. Thanks. I need your help, I am old graduate (2010), completed MD (emergency medicine-2017) from India. Just going to attempt step 1 late this year. What kind of usce would be suitable for me to get matched into EM? Is my experience here useful?

Thank you brother for your awesome video and other videos you provided us. You are a great source of inspiration. Till now from your video I came to this conclusion. I am an IMG student. Going to graduate on 15 July 2021. I know it's a bit late to apply for STEP-1 which I should have done after 2nd year but still, it's never too late. So I am going to apply STEP-1 and STEP-2 CK in 2022 and take OET( if it is still mandatory) too. I will take an externship and observership in the US also do some researches if I get the chance and finally take STEP-3. Please correct me if I am going wrong. So brother can you help us undergraduate or graduate students to know how to prepare a timeline for USMLE or make some videos of how much time will take to go through all this process. It would be a great help. Thanks. Waiting for the video brother. Keep it up again you are a great source of inspiration.

Thank you for this video. This was much required. Can you make videos about deadline for application for match and match month. I mean an elaboration of usmle in terms of dates and deadline. I recently got to know I won't be able to apply this year and by application of next year I can sit for match in 2023. So need a thorough knowledge about requirements, processes and procedures and deadlines. Also can you please share, if you don't mind, your schedule study plan for step1. I'm going very slow. Need some good guidance. I'd be very thankful to you.
God bless u ❤️
Good job 👏 👍 👌
Damn bro u r my inspiration I am prep for neet 2024
Hey Manik, I have a small request :) Can you also make a video about free US clinical experience ?That would be extremely helpful :) Thanks

Thankyou for the information! Could you please through some light on how to find externships hands on ?
Thank you for your very beneficial video we have learn so many things in here.but I want to ask something about how can apply in elective especially while Corona pandemic going on.if you share something about that i will be happy.have a nice day
thank you for the informative videos. we really appreciate it, are clinical rotations flexible, like for example can be done in a the summer?
Excellent so much clarity are you still in medschool...
Hey Manik! Thank you for you amazing videos. Helping us our way out! How long is the process for you to apply and get the electives started? If I do that mid of my internship, do I stand the chance to get electives? Also could you please make a timeline for USMLE video ? Might be very insightful.
Hi, that was really great, thank you so much for making such informative video. My question is Does Mayo clinic or Cleveland clinic accept international medical graduates for observership or externship?
Can you please make a video on USMLE time line? Like when to give the exam so that you can align with the matching day and residency? 🙂🙏

Hi Manik, I had a question. Nowadays, most of the electives are applied through VSLO but my institution isn't currently participating in the VSLO global network. Some institutes offering non-VSLO electives are high end like Harvard, Yale but I don't think they'll help me much in steering the path for my residency. I'm really confused that maybe I should apply for observership later. Any thoughts or advice on this?

@@majhaillife3280 I have seen that yes ! I know IMG's you are plastic surgery, radiology, anything. Mya take longer time, more research, rotations, etc.
Hi! Can you please mention points that should be mentioned in one's CV to make it attractive for landing a rotation? Do ICMR STS publications really add anything to the CV for USMLE?
Can you please make a video on the best CV for rotations, how to make it...

❤
Great video, If I want to do elective in 2024 . When should I have to start applying for elective?
Hi Manik i had a question When do you go for clinical electives in the USA? Is it during the home residency internship? Also will the introduction of next pg have any impact on the ability of mbbs students to go for 4 month long usce
Thank you Dr. Madaan for the informative video. I want to apply for the upcoming match do you have any advice regarding resources for writing LOR and personal statment, what platform to use in order to edit the personal statment. And do you have any advice in general. Thank you in advance.
Please can you make a video on how to apply for clinical electives in USA.
such a sweetheart u r!!!!!!really really thnq u a lott:-) can u please provide more info about externship....as u said it takes upper hand to graduates over observership..
@manikmadaan
3 жыл бұрын
Getting an externship is pretty tough when you email programs as they are rare. I have mentioned all the websites that provide externships(a bit expensive) in the description of this video. Check them out
Hi manik! This video was great! I wanted to know more about externship as i am a graduate. Do you have a link that tells me some of the hospitals that offer externships for graduates??
Most of them are vis AAMC/VSLO , very few universities are accepting nonVSLO students
I appreciate your effort, i guess one point is missed and appreciate if you add. When is the right time for rotationship in USA for Indian students
Great job my friend. excuse me could you explain what is the difference between IM preliminary track and IM categorical track? thanks in advance
@manikmadaan
3 жыл бұрын
Preliminary means pgy 1 only. You have to apply for the match again for pgy2 and 3. Categorical means pgy1,2,3.
Amazing video! As a graduate, I would need to do an Observership rather than an Elective. Would that significantly affect my chances of matching, or can I expect a decent chance with just an observership?
💙💙
Hello sir!... Your videos are awesome👍 and very much helpful 🥳. Sir, can you please give an example of how to write an email to the programs regarding USCE??? Can you please tell what all should we mention in that???

So say Hi ,Mention who you are, where are you from, your cv and tell them you are Very interested in doing a rotation in their university. Then ask them if they have any rotation available in say internal medicine.

Hi Manik! Really Great video! Can you please guide me where I can find externship/research electives ? Since I applied for upcoming 2022-23 match but unfortunately I didn’t get any interview so far. Hence, I am anticipating it as a no-match for me. I am trying to look it from next year’s perspective. Can you please tell me about ways to strengthen my CV? Thank you so much in advance!
Can you please tell me , Mayo and Cleveland only offers electives or handson externships also? Thanks.
Hey Manik…thank you for this video. Please do most of these electives provide visas for IMGs? Or is possession of a US visa a requirement to even apply?
Thank you a lot for the detailed information provided. Still I am confused to do the process personally or to approach a consultant.

Hello Manik! I am preparing for psychiatry match and would be grateful to know where did you do your USCE? I watched a video of you at Jackson Park Hospital can you please tell me which were the other ones? BTW I am grateful for the efforts you put on for other USMLE aspirants. Thanks man!
Great video…. How many days before our desired date we need to do this process??
Great video sir you are really providing us with the first hand experience !!! ...but with the onset of pass /fail in Step 1 what are changes in criterias that we would get the USCE oppurtunities ....also if the pressure falls on STEP 2 marks whats your view in the timeline change of actually going for the USCE's ....before or after STEP 2 , sorry for my bland writting abilities.

If i do electives from india,will that be helpful at the time of residency matching? Or electives only done from US are considered during matching?
Hi manik, I have a doubt, did you do your clerkship after you were done with step 2 or did you do before it ? And do you know something about couple match?
Do you have any reccomendations for electives that dont require step 1 scores?
Useful info. But I think most of electives are closed because of covid except commercial one.
Hi Great video, In which year did you do electives?
Hi Manik, there is one main campus of Cleveland clinic and around 16 affiliated hospitals to it, is it valid to do clinical rotations in any of those hospitals or it should be done only in the main campus ?
Clear cut video on electives😍. Have you faced any difficulty in the financial aspect in this usmle journey?
@manikmadaan
3 жыл бұрын
Not really, however I do feel it's a bit expensive coming from india 😅.
Hey! first of all thankyou so so much for such a good video but i have so many doubts can you please reply! 1. Can I go for clinical rotations if I qualify step 1 after my 2nd year of mbbs? 2. How can I get free clinical rotations (I saw it on youtube but that was not clear to me) 3. Now we have to give next 1 and next to instead of neet pg in india and instead of final exams there will be next 1 which is necessary for internship in india soo do i have to clear next 1 to go to usa ? 4. After I will be matched in usa then I will get residency right? And within that period of work I will get green card?
