    Basically, training / conditioning people to filter out noise and confusion in order to think and function properly. Handy thing to know, frankly, im a LEO who has learnt this skill from 10 years of experience... its awesome to possess the ability to face chaos and be immune to its white noise.

    I love this shit. It brings back a lot of memories from my time on the island. We gave up every single right we had. You even had to request permission to speak. I remember this inspection well. We had one person pass out of forty. I remember I had to drink my own vomit. I had a good friend be forced to low crawl through someone else's vomit. Good times. Semper fi to all of my brothers out there.

    I have a question which I hope someone who has been through this can answer; not some kid on the Internet who thinks they've watched enough videos and played enough games to know... When the drill instructors (could be wrong, just going by video description) are going along the lines, to each recruit, and the recruit is shouting back, do the instructors care about how strong or weak/ strained the voice is, as long as they are shouting back? What I mean is that when I was is Air Cadets, I know it's a whole different experience, but one of our staff made up shout like this when we were doing drill, and I absolutely loved it; the feeling and the intensity of it. But they would always say that once your voice started to strain, you could go back to normal talking. I know in the Marines, there wouldn't be the option of talking, but what do they expect when your voice begins to go hoarse and hurting to yell at this volume? It's just interesting to me. I don't think I could go through this training, as in my current point of life, I don't think I'm mentally strong enough to withstand the high pressure these Men and Women do every day. But I am very interested in the life of these people.Thanks to anyone who can help. I'm sure I will have more questions while watching the rest of this and the suggested videos down the side!

  • @texastoast9729

    @texastoast9729

    8 жыл бұрын

    No they are still always going to yell at you even if your voice is dead but they will see if you're really trying and if they see that your trying but your voice is gone you'll be fine because that's what they like to see because then you know your putting out 100% effort.

    Absolutely go crazy and probably say they could yell as much as they want. It may be tempting but it's better to just let them yell regardless of how unreasonable it may be.

    0:15 I think I read about this somewhere, but I'm not sure. Is the drill instructor testing the recruit to see if he knows not to speak? Are they supposed to not talk with the rifle in front of them and the bolt locked back?

    Never heard that. I think the recruit is letting the "stress" get to him. This was a joke. When you realize you can't do anything right, just wait till it's over...

    You’re not supposed to say anything until you’ve executed inspection arms and they take away the rifle.

    I remember doing the inspection, we were supposed to report after they take the rifle. I accidentally report while I’m hitting inspection arms. “GOOD MORNING S- 😳😳” “What? What was that? Whatchu say?” “….😳😳😳…”

    While in the army, the drill sergeants converse nicely with their privates reasuring them no maltreatment will come to them...

    Nah, go to Fort Benning infantry, scout Cavalry or tanker battalions and you'd change your mind quick. My drills in infantry school gave no kind gestures or conversation towards any trainee/private in any way. Only time you're treated nicely is by civilian workers you meet rarely

    Its not kind, but not mean either. Its neutral. Its a different kind of screaming. They all do it. Its nothing personal. Its how the corps is.

    In the last two wars, do a comparative body count. Considering these men are going through similar training to fight ISIL that was used to fight the Taliban (and Al Qaeda) and the Iraqi's, I put money on these men doing the killing rather than ISIL and American confederate....

    This is the recruits first exposure to an inspection...all this culminates with the Battalion Commander's inspection.
