I have WAY too many remotes for all my lighting and such so I'm going to try one of these. I'm looking at the BestCon RM4C pro (a sub-brand of BroadLink). It's only $30, hope it doesn't suck.

instead of creating a script and using that in a automation i just use the action call service then select remote: send command. The only problem i have is remembering all the commands i created in order to send them. I suppose i could write them all down in notepad or something but were is the fun in that. 😁 I use it to control my TV of course but also use it to control some cheap IR candles and my fireplace insert i bought that just came with a cheap remote control. Using a singled smart plug to monitor the energy through put on the fireplace so i can tell when its on or off, also have some HA helper toggles so can turn it on/off with google assistant when i want to. Use a toggle helper for the candles so i can do the same with them as well.

Still getting an issue tho, after setting up the Remote: Send command and then calling the service I get the following error.... Failed to call service remote.send_command.
