Elena, your video made me smile. It reminded me of my early years in woodworking. There will come a time when you own more tools to create more beautiful projects. I admire you for forging ahead and not letting your lack of tools stop you. You will go far in woodworking. Attagirl Elena, bravo! 🇨🇦👍

Thanks! Appreciate the kind words :)
Peace be upon you, your follower from Iraq, your work is very wonderful❤
These came out beautiful and you have inspired me to make something along these lines with the scrap wood I have. I am working on a plant wall and this is perfect to keep things organic looking. Thank you.

Amazing! Hope it turns out beautifully.
That is genius work👍
I suggest picking up a wen 6307 banfle 1/2 x 18in belt sander. The back side of the belt sander is backed by metal or any track so you an use it as a flexible belt for curves. In my line of work we have 2 plus a few cordless ones and there used almost daily for the craziest stuff in the tightest spots. Even as enough power to drill a square hole strait on in wood 👍

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to check that out.

It use to be $25 now it ranges from $33 to $40 now. Makita is almost $200! All cordless options are $120+ but because of the lack framework on thr back of it it makes a fantastic cheap curve sander 👍
go Elena go
Elena, if ever in Tulsa, Ok I can show you how to power carved of lathe turned items
I like how you problem solve by using the tools on hand. I’m inspired by your work.
Very nice and creative, good job!
Those pieces came out great. It doesn't have to be "perfect". :)
Nice work! great ideas Elena
Looked fun and came out great
Honey that is incredible I love your projects. 🌹💗🌹💋💋💋
Great project for your scraps, I’m cringing with each bang on the chisels though. You could do with a good wooden mallet as they’re not through tang, next project on the horizon I think? Easy to make and good to sell.

I definitely want to make a nice wooden mallet soon!
Very cool great idea. Great job
You could have used the coping saw for cutting out the center of the large piece. Drill a small hole through the piece, take the blade off the saw, thread it through the small hole, then reattach the bade to the frame. Interior cut outs like that is one of the problems coping saws are designed to solve.

Very true, next time I'll probably go that route.
They come out good all that hard work paid off great job keep it up I may try to make something like those

This video is a shining example of your creative thinking and problem solving. You may not have the required tooling, but you do have an imaginative mind. That is more powerful and effective tool than any comments chastising you for the methods you used. Continue using your rational problem solving with safety above all until you are able to secure the tooling you need for projects like this.

Thanks! It's one of the things I love about woodworking, it's a bit of a puzzle trying to figure out the best tools and methods to get to the end result :)
They all came out great!! The tools you have on hand are almost always the right tools for the job, just maybe not the IDEAL ones for the job. We use what we have sometimes 👍

Thank you! haha it's true you can get a lot done with just a jigsaw, chisels, handsaws, and a drill.
I really enjoyed your improvisation and using the tools you have to create and not worrying about the tools you don't have/the piece for the bandsaw. Thank you for making this!

As a master woodworker - this is inspiring work you are doing. It is simple, yet makes a statement. You took stuff that many woodworkers would have thrown away and made some awesome pieces. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Much appreciated :)
Very Nice❤❤❤
They turned out great, and there is loots of room to experiment with shapes and textures or having the plywood layers going different directions. it defeats the point of using up scrap but you could glue up layers like the chaos cutting boards and get some really interesting patterns with the organic carving.
@elenamakes

Thanks :) I'll definitely need to experiment a bit more and I have plenty of those glued of plywood pieces leftover to work with.
Maybe a rasp for smoothing out those interior spaces? You'd want a coarse one for quickly establishing the shape and a finer one to get to a smoother surface. They'd be useful on more sculptural pieces like this.
You "coped" very well, Elena! You're definitely a very imaginative and resourceful artist. Love the videos!!!

☺☺ @0:49 Love your Scrapbook and sketches, Elena! Always helpful to plan ahead before the big make! ☺☺
I love stacking plywood and carving it. These are nice!
Super cute little things you made. Thanks for the video.
Love this! I recently got into power carving and one tool that helped me out a lot is a die grinder.
Wow thanks for the video. Recently I was lucky enough to get several trailer loads of off-cuts from a furniture factory which included several pieces very similar to what you're using. Initially I had no idea what to do with them but now I'm now feeling Inspired.

@@elenamakes Some pallets use blocks of plywood as spacers between the top and bottom, these would probably be free and could be useful for similar projects.
Great job !!!
Incredibly creative, simple and efficient. Good luck to you.

You're thinking to yourself hmmm, if I get a trailer, I could build a tiny house. :P
Wow,,,, luar biasa, saya suka
That turned out very nice, very creative!
Could you have used a router for the central holes? You’d have to make passes from each side, but a template bearing would allow the two sides to line up. You could then use a round over to soften the edges.
@elenamakes
Ай бұрын
Definitely! I just don’t own one but I’ll likely breakdown and get one soon. I’m just indecisive on what type to purchase first.
Very nice work!
Well done👍
