Using School Grounds for Forest School - 5 Tips for Setting up a Forest School

Are you setting up a Forest School area in your School Grounds? We hope our 5 tips for using school grounds for Forest School programmes can help you plan what you will need.
In an ideal world we’d all be able to take our groups offsite to a natural wild woodland, but unfortunately for many of us there may be barriers to this ideal. I’ve seen good quality Forest School happen within the more domestic environment of school grounds - Forest School is an ethos, not a place. It may take more creativity and resourcefulness from the practitioner to bring in natural materials and create play opportunities.

Thanks Lou ------ Divine Timing !! I am just starting my 6 weeks pilot and panicking as my local school only has a flat playing field with 3 bushes huddled in a small corner. I would be ecstatic if I had a field like the one you are filming in ! I do not even have 1 tree !!! I will go foraging to see if I can find big pieces of wood to make a shelter
