Genius! I have noticed how wet crepe paper causes stains. What a great way to dye fabric and paper! The muslin looks exactly like sari silk! I am very happy to learn of this process!

Glad I found this one....I bought some purple crepe paper at the dollar store this a.m. to try ...I didn't know anything about how, but I knew I'd find a video in your library to help. I just really love how you use what's at hand..so natural, so textile, so "real"...your style is wonderful... I found a well-washed ecru colored king-size sheet in the back of my linen closet. It's the color of calico (muslin) or as they call it down South, 'Domestic'. It tears beautifully and takes dyes well, and I don't think I'll ever be able to use it up! I will be making these ribbons soon, I was the party-giver in our family and have lots of streamers. Thank you for all the ideas to use up my houseful of supplies.

It's been so long since I've accidentally wet a party streamer and got my fingers colored. Very cool idea - I love it. Thanks for sharing.

Natasha! Just saw this today! I just got a roll of that paper yesterday to figure out how to the things w/it, and here you are! Scrolling through your old videos, ones I missed when I hadn't "discovered" you yet. So many great things/ideas to do with the dye. It looks easy to make, but could you do a video teaching how to make the note pad? Also the burlap journal? Really liked both of them! Thanks so much. great idea! I wonder if you could do an om-bray effect by laying the wet strips out next to the streamer and see if it would absorb sideways? That would be really cool too.or even use the streamers to make a stamp pad for stamps wow ideas are really flowing lol
