Using IONITY rapid EV chargers in UK with Tesla Model 3
How to connect and charge your EV on an Ionity rapid charger in the UK. Tesla model 3 example filmed at Skelton Lake services on the M1 in Leeds. Please note that that Ionity chargers don't currently accept wireless bank cards and you will need to download the ionity app or use a payment card that ionity partners with (e.g. Octopus electro-universe card).

And by the way that charger can go up to 350kw right now model 3 can only take max 250kw but only at v3 supercharger it can take 200kw at ionity

I was looking at getting that maingua card since ionity prices are crazy. What's the price per kw with the card in the UK and is the card actually completely free? Thanks

It’s charged be 40 eurocents per KWh👍

they pre-chaged me 90 eurocents before they sent the card👍

@@leestraveleats ok thanks I also found out about charge point they have a flat ionity fee of about £8!
These are on free vend at the minute according to the ionity app and zap map reviews so not sure why they were charging you just last month?

How did you find out about the card and do you think it will work in France as I am going to drive there in August in my ID4

From Bjorn Nyland (tesla Bjorn)’s channel. It should work anywhere where those cards are accepted, look on their map on their website for locations👍

@@leestraveleats Is that something new? The Ionity charger I attempted to use at Peterborough Services did not accept card payments. It was an App. So I went elsewhere - to a Instavolt charger, which was much simpler.

you would be charging from home 95% of the time it is not complicated

@@Tresla It is possible to get on street charges installed , not so difficult. Also encourage work to provide charging
