Using Interference Powder in a 3D Bloom. Did it work?
TUTORIAL DESCRIPTION:
In this video I will be trying a interference powder in a 3D bloom but in a square tray. First I use the PU resin in the ridge of the tray. I then mix up Lets Resin casting resin and wait till it reaches 33 degrees C. I pour off 20ml for my white and then pour the rest in the tray. I drop in a few drop of the Lets Resin Orchid alcohol ink, not to much and then I swirl that around. I then mix my white which consists of 2 drops of castin craft pigment paste and 5 drops of Lets Resin white alcohol ink and then I add a scoop of the rainbow interference powder. I use a paper cup to do my petals and decide to do them in a daisy petal shape this time. Once cured I back it in black using the Lets Resin black mica powder.

The bloom is awesome - it looks like a beautiful underwater photo of a sea anemone that someone took and put in a matching picture frame! The 4th of July tray is cool, too. In Texas, each city determines its own fireworks ordinances; most do not allow fireworks in the city limits. However, that doesn’t stop a lot of folks from doing it anyway.

Beautiful bloom so dainty. And the 4 the of July tray is so cool. They shoot fireworks off for a week before and usually a week after. This year hasn't been as bad as previous. Maybe people can't afford them. Come to think of it I wonder where they buy them here cause I have never seen a fireworks stand like we had in Oklahoma

The lid you made today had a center thing in it to keep it from being solid
@resinmeup
2 күн бұрын
So your lid isn't hollow? That's odd for a stackable item. Gosh only thing I can think of is possibly using a coaster that's smaller than the lid and pour around it, but the you would have a groove that might prevent it from closing down on your piece. Without seeing it, I don't know.
Yep all year around

Welcome Barbara, thank you for Subscribing. I thought I was recording when I doing the PU and realized I wasn't🤦. But what I did was, I used the same powder that I used in the bloom and brushed the inside edge of the mold and then poured the PU in. The mold is from Temu and its linked in the description box. Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help❤
I love the candy bowl. I totally love all the colours! Great job. I am a purple person. I have purple drapes etc in my living room. Where would I get rainbow interference. Nothing I look at seems to say that and I am so confused. Just starting out but I love watching what you create every day.

Wouldn't this basically be like using a color shift in a bloom?? Which is what Julie with Pouring Your Heart Out just did a couple days ago.
@resinmeup
3 күн бұрын
No not at all. Interference powders have titanium dioxide in them and color shift powder don't. I also have done a bloom with color shift powders and it acts totally different.
I have a question, I have a circle stackable mold..I dont want the lid to be solid, how do I make that happen?
@resinmeup

When you say solid, could you be more specific, solid color, solid structure???

im new at this. i spent alot of money on resin and supplies and equipment. today i was chatting with a guy who was telling me how dangerous resin is. if resin is so dangerous why does people risk useing it?
@resinmeup
2 күн бұрын
Dangerous? Did he elaborate on why he thought it was so dangerous? I have been working with resin for 9 years now and I can't recall a time that I ever have ever felt like I was in danger. If you are following all the rules that the manufacturor put out on your resin and using the correct PPE then there shouldn't be any reason for you to feel that way. In reality resin is no different than race cars, building a house, painting, or any hobby, they all come with risks. Its just how you handle the risks and keep yourself safe. Resin has come along way since I started 9 years ago, its much safer to use these days. Hope this helps and don't let someone take your joy away from starting a new hobby. ❤❤

@@resinmeup I love it but being so rural means everyone, my people, are from St.Louis county which is where I lived until 2009. From suburbia to rural... Because it's legal people generally only shoot off fireworks around the 4th of July.
