Is it just me, or are there cannons glitched inside the cannons? If so, I imagine that would cause problems.

@@sonicbladestabber well.... no. If u go in the cannon block stats you see 2 main things: squilib ratio and cannon strenght. The first thing is the reason why the cannon doesn't shoot because you need as much barrel blocks as powder charges and every chamber must be filled with a powder charge, and if you load too much powder the cannon..... well explodes. And if you put too many cambers the cannon may also explode. Check out the ponder of the cannon assembly

guns don't fire because you're not careful. Each gun has characteristics of the amount of powder charge. in this case, you have too few charges of gunpowder. The charges remain when the gun is fired, and the next time it is charged, there are already two charges.

hey man the reason why the cannon didn't fire is cause you didn't use enough powder charges. Looking at this I think you need (7?) charges for 100% chance to fire

@@Shalz yep, the cannon barrel blocks should have a "squib ratio" property (with a number visible if you're wearing the goggles); this is how many barrel pieces a projectile can travel on a single powder charge. iirc the steel cannons have a ratio of 3, so for the 8 barrels there you'd need 3 powder charges (rounding up).

@@Shalz Each material has two properties : *Strenght*, which is the maximum number of powder charges a cannon can handle, whatever is the lenght. *Squib Ratio*, which is (I think) the maximum number of barrels per powder charge a cannon can have, without risking a *squib*, which is having your projectile stuck in the barrel, and rendering the cannon unusable until removal of said projectile. For example, cast iron has a squib ratio of 1:1, so if you have 2 powder charges, having more than 2 barrels will make you risk a squib, so you usually want as much barrels as the squib ratio allows, because the more barrels you have, the more precise the cannon is. Ideally, you want as much powder charges as you have chambers (don't forget strenght !), and you want your shell to be the only thing in the barrel. Of course, the more powder charges the farther you'll shoot.

i remember a war on a Minecraft smp in 2016 i had to use the old cannons but this this is a huge upgrade

Finally a way I can represent warfare in minecraft on an industrial scale

A thing you could try is an oscillating turret with the autoloader in the rear, similar to tanks like the AMX 13 and AMX 50. The way it works is that instead of the gun moving on its own, the entire turret goes up and down with it to load at any angle, so you would still have to straighten out the cannon but you'd have 4 loading angles.

This is actually really nice as a weapon mod, one of the few I find really good and fun

In order to ease your cannon problem, please take a look at battleship cannon batteries. Please take a look at how each cannon is separated. This might fix the issue of the cannon breaking. Try 3 barrels as a max.

you should act for early access to Create: Aeronautics, which adds physics, planes, and more insane create mod stuff, with compatibility with big cannons.

Beta is coming out next year, and the team has heavily voiced that early access will not easily just be handed out. The team has not had any actual changes, other than 2 discord helpers which help with their yt videos, for the last year and a half or so.

Yeah... I have the same problem. After some shoots cannons are just starting to think they are jammed and then you reloading them they still jammed and then they explode (Probably a bug, because I use instructions and they just can't explode if you done them right)

Here's a tip if it will help, focus on the reload system for one canon and have it work then work towards multiple canons. Edit: Also a design idea, have one fast reload system and rotate the canons through it like an minigun barrel, if the mod allows

I don't know how create mod works, but if it is possible to make automatic turrets that would be cool. Maybe even in addition to the canons so you can have both.

Btw you could remove 2 of the repeaters by putting blocks above the lower redstone line to cut them off from eachoter, less delay.

I saw someone somehow loading a cannon by pointing it downwards and loading everything by the shooting hole rather than by the back. I think it's quite strange that you can point in downwards completly, but maybe you can still load it in thru the shooting hole when it's horizontal

Developing a game is extremely different from developing a mod

It looks good for a Canon on a castle or something, or artillery, but it would not be very effective attached to trains or anything else where you only have a little space

so when you had the problem with the gantry carriage, i am 99.99999999999999% sure that you could just rotate the contraption 90 degrees so it is facing North-South instead of East-West and than it would place the charges the right way(since the default rotation for blocks placed is North-South or East-West, i forgot)
