Using cognitive interweaves during EMDR Therapy reprocessing

In EMDR Therapy, sometimes processing gets stuck but we can use cognitive interweaves to get it going again. This video explains some useful ways to do these.

Thank you for this example, I appreciate it. I've been fortunate to witness this spontaneously, but know I will use it sometime.

essentiality saying something to get people to give more feedback. - Does anyone other to read the critics of the research literature? seems not.

The cognitive interweave (CI) is not designed to get more feedback. In EMDR Therapy the aim is to have minimal feedback between sets of eye movements and allow clients to link spontaneously to the next appropriate part of the memory. Where clients get stuck with their reprocessing, the CI permits them to connect to the next piece of information they are not connecting to spontaneously.

@@MichaelPatersonOBE im aware of the minimal feedback between sets I meant feedback in terms of movement, getting whatever is meant to be happening happening. For me its just a form of exposure therapy. Of couse each brand of therapy has its psychobabble selling points but they share a lot, especially a lack of evidence. That is of course only apparent if you read the critics.
