How multiple Chrome accounts help you work most efficiently
Login -
Click on the profile menu icon
Turn on sync
Sign in
Setup - it all goes with you! No matter where you log in, these remain the same:
Bookmarks
Autofill
Payment methods
History
Passwords
Automatically logged in to other Google services (KZread, etc.)
Context - working in context keeps my mind straight about what I’m doing
How?
Use themes…
Themes - use a unique one for each different account:
Chrome: Settings -- Appearance -- Themes
Gmail: Settings -- Themes
My setup -
Personal (Home) - Brown
Bookmarked links - Gmail, Reading, Music, Banking, etc.
Google associated sign-on (SSO) for each website gets me right in
Chrome-saved passwords
Work 1 (ATLAS) - Dark Blue - not shown here
Work 2 (Army) - Camo
Bookmarked links - Email, Teams, Evaluations, Records
Google associated sign-on (SSO) for each website gets me right in
Chrome-saved passwords
No social media, no KZread, etc. (focused Army work)
Work 3 (Professional / Side Hustle) - Royal Blue
Bookmarked links - Creating links, publishing links, social links
Google associated sign-on (SSO) for each website gets me right in
Chrome-saved passwords
Avoid - Mismatched profiles!
Google confused people for years
Exception - “At work” (so you’re in Work account)
Need to save article
Have a Pocket account - login using your Home Google account
Why would you use multiple Chrome profiles?
Your setup goes with you
Work in context - avoid context switching
Keep your accounts/files separate
Immediate access:
History
Passwords
Links
Etc.

Great video Josh; however my needs are much simpler than what you are providing for a person in your position. I Don't actually work in the Google accounts that I own with the exception of my primary. I simply use the other mail accounts for nothing other than email. But I do use a different theme so that when I open one of the emails I right away know which one I'm in.

Brilliant! Yes, themes are super helpful for "orienting" your brain - well-played sir! 🤓

You may have described this in another video but noticing that you have all of your accounts down in the bar at the bottom of the page, you did not explain how to get all of the counts to have their own browser readily available.

Oh wow, great observation! Thank you so much for the feedback. The funny thing, shortly after I made this video, Google launched a new way to handle multiple accounts that makes the process much simpler. I share that because normally I'd make a video to address what you mentioned, but in this case, Google actually did a pretty good job of this on their own! 😅 i.e. I could make a video, but I think Google solved the chaos/confusion problem already 😊
