I think I would have built a simple axle with wheels that could be placed under the conex. Or built some runners from a pair of 6x6 timbers that ran front to back on each side. Using two dozers was a good idea. Too bad he couldn't help with that first one. Thanks for sharing the building of your shop with everyone. I know it adds a lot of work recording and editing the videos. And every one of those likes is acknowledgement of that extra work plus a big thank you for your taking this on.

In the future if you ever do that again. Get you a mobile home axle. Widen it out so the container will sit down on the axle tube. You may have to strengthen it Abit. But for off-road moving your not going fast anyhow. So it should hold up. The hook your dozer on the other end and tow it like a trailer

I’m Impressed with the log solution and the fact that you did this on your own and made a video . I just wish I had married someone like you . He just doesn’t do manual work or has any logic when doing any job so I’m glad he gave up trying to . I’ve always worked with practical men as the only girl in the sound department I am now one of their bosses . As usual I have to go through the challenge ‘ can she do the job’ . Only the other week I had to prove that I can still swing a boom . It’s just technique , you don’t have to be a body builder or look like a bloke . My husband and is a big producer so he does all the big decision making and the more I hear it sounds like he is fitting in quite well with all the ‘lovies’ who creep around him just looking for their next job . In fact two girlies are taking him out for dinner this weekend so he can’t come up north to celebrate my birthday . To be honest I’d rather be part of a day like yours than listen to them hanging on his every word .

The best tip i know of for moving shopping containers is two have two old truck axles or steel tube with wheel hubs welded onto them and chain and binder or ratchet strap them to the far end lifting twist lock pocket so you have a 40ft trailer with wheels at each end and attach a chain onto the lower front twist lock pockets

I love shipping containers, they're inexpensive ready built buildings. I also use a 24ft van body off of a cargo truck for firewood storage right next to my outdoor wood broiler. Perfect for keeping the snow off and easy to toss in the burner. They also make racking that you can hang shelves in the storage containers. Look at the loops around the top edge to hang them. You're handy enough to build what you need because they can be expensive, but I got lucky and had a container delivered with half a load of the brackets. They never checked the container when it was leaving apparently. Freebies for me.

Done this with 40 footers a few times, don't restrain roller log, container rolls over top as long or post rolls along ground, quick ,easy, no hassles Container is only about 3.5 ton all up, so easy to lift 1 end , pop roller log or post under, move 30 to 35 feet, repeat process,if you have a couple of rollers or more you don't have to relift each step, just run continually I've done this with a little tired 1.5 ton forklift, small tractors whatever Final positioning is easier if the 40 footer is rocking over a roller for most of the transition, get one end right, then find tune the last end. cheers

I think I would have grabbed the rear end of a truck and fabricobled a container trailer with it. But the rear wheels under one end, use the dozer to lift and pull the other end. The diff in the rear axel will eliminate slipping between the two wheels. and them being wheels would prevent the gouging off the ground.

Love the video, hate the noise of distorted guitars all the time. We either fast forward past it or have to keep turning it down. You don't need it at all.
