The list of buffs I would give brella to actually make it useable: - Revert 2's damage nerf (back to 90 max damage) - Revert some of 2's ink efficiency nerf (not fully) - Reduce the damage the shield takes from splatanas, crabs, shooters and dualies. - Fix the still present shield bugs, or at least as many as humanely possible within the netcode we're stuck with. - Buff sprinkler to be a useable sub weapon These would make brella a mid tier LMAO

@@sonicrunn3r895 bruh I believe it should be 100 damage but only if all the pellets hit, I’m not familiar with how many is in each shot but I do know it’s pretty easy not to hit them all in a fight so I think it should really award precision shots rather then splash or chip damage. I agree with you on everything else concerning the main weapon though with its shield health and stuff

@@grape_soduh Currently it fires 6 main pellets that deal 16.2 damage at close range with minimum of 10.8 damage at falloff. However the damage maxes out with hitting 5 out of 6 for 81 total damage max in a single shot. However I disagree on giving it an all pellet one shot, given the shielding and the firing speed compared to the other brella that can one shot (tenta brella). Regular brella fires quickly so just reverting the damage gives it a decently consistent 2 shot again.

If all specials in Splatoon 3 got a trophy, stamp would get a participation trophy

Whenever there's a match where brella just works instead of shoots passing through it it's so much fun to use as a just messing around weapon. Really makes me sad that I was stuck with crap internet when brella was at it's peak in splat2.

Bro that bit where nothing happened and Chara didn't fall into the water while explaining brella shields was so epic

Yesterday, I gave regular Brella a serious shot and it was honestly some of the most fun I’ve had with Splatoon 3 , just a shame how inconsistent it sometimes feels

Brella is such a fun and well designed weapon, hopefully they fix it and the latency

Honestly you get used to it being unable to defend you for half a second, its just those exceptional moments of bullshit that frustrates you. Somehow, 1/10 of the time, some person shoots at the brella continously, PIERCES IT and you DIE

0:49 - 1:07 This clip alone is a good example of HOW to be a GREAT Skirmisher or Distraction guy. If everyone from the enemy team is trying to shoot at you then they lost focus on the objective which in this game is the Splat Zone, and also lost the game by not trying to recover it. Wonderful display of skill!

Reminder that Brellas are the only class to never receive a buff… AT ALL. (Neither do Brushes, but let’s be real, they don’t need it as much.)

Brella having to deal with lag in s2 was bad enough Brella now having to deal with even worse lag and new bugs is even worse If nintendo wants to fix brella before giving it new kits or buffs, we're never gonna get the latter cos it seems the bug fixes for brella are just about as effective as using band-aids to cure aneurysms.

I mean, you can already squid roll and not take damage from a hit even though the enemy didn't see you squid roll at that moment. But with brellas the offence pov is rewarded instead like a typical shooter game, but splatoon is peer to peer connection so they could come up with different solutions, wth is nintendo smoking

As a fan of Splat Brella I really hope it gets buffed so I can try to learn it without feeling like I'm throwing. A new brella type would be cool to see too. Maybe next season could add new bow, sword, and brella main weapons?

That's how it felt learning tenta in 3, sunk to -600 and climbed my way back before the season ended. Bright side I now consider it one of my mains.

I honestly really like the Brella weapons but I feel like I can only succeed with tenta. The Reefslider was what got me into the Brella weapons and I whole heartedly agree that it should have a longer charge path, seeing as how I typically use it to get behind enemy lines and be a distraction to help my team get the objective. PS: the Dapple dualies nouveau work great for this and the torpedo sub works great for those camping chargers. Edit: I'm sure you know most of this stuff your self considering your a pro at this game but I still wanted to say this stuff.

@@dnr-vs1lk I just use weapons cause I like the like the kit not because it's optimal or any overly competitive stuff like that. Might look into the tetra set to see if it's something i'd like outside of the main weapon cause I do enjoy the dualies.

I'm running low on hopium. I don't know how much more of this I can take, it's been 6 months and that's not even including the time after the nerf in 2

We need better Brella and a new Brella. A thought I had was the Bamboo Brella, based on old bamboo lacquer umbrellas. It has slightly higher health than the standard, is sightly wider when fired, but has a shorter travel range to make up. But I'm addition to that wideness and health, it fires a wide, shorter ranged cone of ink. Meant for skirmishes and painting over anything else

The Glooga with the Mario soundeffects got me way too hard dude-- especially as someone who's recently found they really like Gloogas. Take a like!

Fun fact: Blasters are no longer the best counter against brellas. It’s instead Splatanas. All Splatanas deal almost FIVE TIMES AS MUCH DAMAGE against shields

Hello, the glooga player in question here! Aside from making a fool of myself that match, thats a hilarious edit, props to the editor

If they could just fix ONE thing about Brellas is that I wish the canopy opened up faster when firing so that there's no lag and it actually does it's function of blocking enemy shots. Second thing is to extend the duration of the canopy staying on the weapon before launching. Especially for Tenta Brella because it's whole gimmick is... a wide shield.

The design of Tenta is that it constantly launches its shield so it and its team can shoot and follow it. That would nerf it.

i've gone up against machines whose shots have pierced straight through the brella's canopy multiple times in recent memory. it's unreal also iirc you *can* adjust your aim vertically but only in midair for some reason? would be a nice feature to have if three taps from a splatana/brush(?)/stringer didn't immediately shred it

Splat brella is in a game where everything is power creeped. Literally Nintendo just ported Splatoon 2 brella to 3 with no buffs to compete.

I think one of the aspect of the brellas' shields not working as intended is in part due to the rest of the game working as intended while the opponent suffers lag. By that, I mean the fact that all the netcode in splatoon assumes "if it happened on your screen then it really happened", which is fine and fair in most situations, until we look at brellas. If your opponent lags, they may not see your brella open before they kill you, while on your screen it was opened in time to save you. This gets resolved to you dying with your open brella. Unless Nintendo finds a way to integrate the exception that killing a brella might not always yield an actual kill because their shield should take precendence, this might forever be a fundamental flaw of brellas that can only be alleviated somewhat by ensuring minimum lag for all players, but not eliminated.

So I think I can explain that zoomin’ Glooga Dualies. I literally played against him a couple of hours ago myself, and I play in the Australian/JP region, which I’m pretty sure Chara isn’t in. That was probably lag, either that or he was using a glitch with the weapons that I’ve seen somewhere, where his weapon has the properties of the dualie squelchers but it looks like he’s using the glooga dualies. Could just be a skill issue on Chara’s part

I tried out Tenta Brella (my old main and still one of my favourite weapons) today in a game of Splatzones, and I ended up getting horribly bullied. I got splatted 10 times due to Eliters, Crabs, Splatlings, and Inkstrikes. It was a miracle that my team somehow managed to win with me being in such a horrible position. Please Nintendo, fix this poor, poor weapon class.

You can be insane with brella and get like 24 kill games on something like tower, but there’s always gonna be those moments where the enemy team shoot through the shield. I am fully on board with that reefslider idea, but then again I like to play tetras as someone you have to deal with but I'm annoying to have to

Make brella shields bigger, make them do more damage, and make it so Reefslider travels further, whether by Special Power Up or not. And for Reefslider distance, don't chance the movement speed.
