I looked up the MSDS sheet online and it’s mineral oil, carnauba wax, beeswax and vitamin e oil.

Warming the oil first before applying it will make it penetrate easier into the wood surface... all you have to do to warm it is hold it under running hot water from kitchen faucet

Using gloves also saves oil, because cloths and paper towels absorb alot of oil

If the burn ring bothers you, you can go over it lightly with 100 grit sand paper. Then reapply the oil again. (Not every time, but occasionally I will apply a relatively heavy coat of the oil and, like you, I let the board absorb overnight before I wipe it down. Gotta take care of one's tools.) Cheers. 😊

Hey thanks for the informative tutorial. Your board is about 17 years old at this point if you still have it. How did it do? Did you keep up with the monthly applications? I ordered my first set of the Boos Block Mystery Oil and Wax and received it today. I’m going to apply my first treatment tonight. Thanks again for the video. I hope you’re doing well. 😷

I think the lotion is a good product, but is it necessary? No. More of a luxury IMO and an extra step in the process.

Follow the directions. It says wait five minutes and rub the excess off. Then reapply if needed. You put way too much of it on and it is now absorbed into that towel and wasted oil. The beeswax is in the Boos Block cream.
