The pond is one of my favorite parts of our property. Really nice job on this video nice to see some pond and chainsaw clip as well. Very good job as keeping me as the viewer entertained. Hey Mitch, the flail mowers have always intrigued me. I have 2 mowers. 1 is a pull behind International that is a tank. The other is the one that is featured in my videos that is a 3 pt. mount. The brand is Southeast. Made in Kansas. Have some maintenance and repairs to do on it before next year. The job that your flail mower did was pretty impressive. Pretty neat looking job. We have almost no gnats or mosquitos this year. One advantage of a drought. Enjoyed a full watch and gave you a thumbs up. Good job on the video. See you for the next one.

@@MJADoingStuff Hey there, do not remove your hammer blades, my mower has a rear gate that opens up by removing 2 bolts, also allows for a rougher mulching effect. Anyhow, with that rear gate opened up I dress the angle side of the hammer blades with a 4" angle grinder, using a flap disk and just touch them up with a razor sharp edge. This is also the time to do a double check on all the tightness of your bolts holding the hammers on the shaft. You will find that you can mow your lawn and it will look close to a golf course, the roller will provide the stripes. Hope all this helps and a very happy mowing. Any other questions, just ping me, I run a 78" Woodmax flail on a Kubota MX 5200. Beautiful mowing or destructive clearing, they are the cats ass.

Good review. I like the beekeeping hat idea. So far, I haven't run up on any yellow jacket nests, but better to be prepared, isn't it? So as to your question of where the thistle and other undesirables came from... Most likely, they were either already there, and you cleared the air so they could grow, or, your cleared trail was enjoyed by your wildlife who deposited the seed.

Not sure what type of fish would thrive there but here in California where ever there is standing water the county workers go out and put fish to control the mosquito population. I know that they would even send residents letters asking us to check our back yards for water in old unused tires or pales just sitting around the yards. If you do just make sure you add some black ABS pipe in the water so the fish have a place to hide from birds and predators.
