Question: If I have a painting that I painted and use an ai generator and it spits out an enhanced version of my existing painting without entering any prompts like in DaVinci/Wombo/Dream etc but used their styles such as Midjourney, Cartoon etc. can it be copyrighted? Can you produce prints? I am the original artist so what are your thoughts? Thanks

If I pay for midjourney subscription , create ai art and use it on POD stuff like tshirts is that okay to do ? I am not asking for copyrights for the design as I know anybody can generate those same designs using ai . But is selling POD stuff with ai designs legal?

Hi there! Technically, yes. You can put ai images on products. However, it also depends on what image elements you ask it to generate. If you generate images with certain elements that are trademarked or copyrighted, for example an image of a pumpkin with a Nike logo, then that would still be considered infringement because that particular logo is still not your property, even if it comes out of an ai generator. There are plenty of nuances to this and even though AI is a great tool to help generate ideas for designs, it is not a final solution. Be careful to double check whether the images you generate are free of intellectual property that might belong to someone else.

Hi there! Unless you mean using an ai to create designs, mockups, or product descriptions - there are no 3rd party ai integrations with Printify ... yet ;)

Hi, For commercial use, you'll most likely need to pay for a subscription. It's a good idea to read the Terms of Service for whichever platform your using to get a full understanding of commercial rights.

So using ai art as clip art is ok?

Hi! In theory, yes, but that would depend on what the art is, of course. Generic clip art of an animal, for example, should be ok, but if it's something already copyrighted, like a Marvel character, then it would probably be infringing. However, these laws are quickly changing as AI evolves, so it's best to periodically check for those updates.

So what to doooo? hahaha should i use midjourney api to open a store or not ?!??!
