I have a Gen 1, 2, and 3 parka. I have to say, the Gen 1 is still my favorite.

Nice review can't beat military surplus gear

I've learned if there's anything in your kit you spend money on its the clothing. That is one sick set up my friend. I will be seriously considering something like that for my self now. We get crazy rain here on the island. Thanks for sharing, Cheers!

I always liked the Gore-tex I had in the service, but it is a little loud. It served me well in some pretty cold places, worked well in conjunction with our "Bear suits" too.

I need a couple pair of these Pants and the Jacket for me and my wife. to put into my BugOut trailer. Looks good. I like all the GoreTex stuff.

Absolutely love them and funny enough, I was just looking on eBay for a pair just like these, 2 days ago. I have the jacket, which I love but need the trousers to match.....still looking by the way, hopefully, I will be as lucky as you. Cheers Alan

Carolina Chris Outdoors it really is a comfortable set, not too bulky, and for sure will keep you warm and dry, sometimes too warm lol. And being surplus stuff, even a new set is way cheaper than some high dollar name brand that won’t work any better than these.

You should look into getting the fur ruff that attaches to the hood. They're only $10.

Those are awesome man! I have a set of frog toggs rain pants and jacket but they just don't hold up too well. It would be awesome to find some of those gortex pants and jacket that would fit me. Nice find brother!

As these are outer layers, be sure of your overall size. And go bigger , especially if your chores require you to exert so you dont RIP seams, And breathability/ venting comfort Got some European goretex 🇨🇵French 🇬🇧 British &🇧🇪 German sets and was lucky to find in my size( xl -112/ xxl-120 metric) Would like to get an American set, on the cheap, keeping my eyes peeled.

That's one handsome tuxedo. Gotta get me one.

It’s made for cold weather, it would definitely be too hot any other time. And most definitely with layers it will keep you warm, and dry.

Jerry Hagerman they say to get your normal size if you order them, but they do run a little big, so that it will fit over your base layers that you have underneath.

Unfortunately gortex breaks down after a couple years, rain water will start saturating big time, I now own 12 taiga gortex jackets because of this problem.

Man i beat the shit out of my US gortex. ATV balls out mud blasting, and tractor snow plowing. I had rinse and they look new

....very good gear...lightweight...signed, 31 year veteran....still have my set...search eBay for these....surplus stores overpriced IMO...

Rick Thompson I found the jacket at a resale shop last year, I paid $5 for it, it was in next to new shape as well.

I just bought a set for $8

Just paid $50 for a new pair on ebay.. a bit steep
