Fact: Normally in SMB1, SMB3, and SMW, Mario would downgrade to Small Mario when he falls in posion, or lava. But in NSMBU and SM3DW, it will show Mario's death animation with his current power-up. (Excluding Buzzy Shellmet, Spiny Shellmet, Cannon Box, Red POW Box, Goomba Mask, Propeller Box and Bullet Bill Mask.)

11:21 my best guess is that since you jump off of the koopaling when you take damage, the game thinks that you are spin jumping off of the koopaling, and for a short time period, handles the ground pound animation like a spin jump anamation.

Useless fact: Don't know if this is SMM2, I tested it for the 3ds version, but when you finish a level in the Super Mario Bros. theme, wait for mario to go into the castle. Once it goes back to editor (Don't go there yourself, just wait.), you'll see a short animation of mario walking out of the castle

At 0:28, the SMBW thwomp can be seen flip, remove the skull coaster and move the thwomp down 1 square. The bottom spikes are seen flipping as Mario moves on either side.

17:07 gaining a power up causes a short freeze-frame where the level checks if something is out of place. In smashes ‘wired mechanics’ this is apparent as the pow teleports to youshies mounth after gaining a power up. In this frame, the game thinks “hey, Mario shouldn’t be riding yoshi with that powerup, let’s take that away.” That’s why it doesn’t clear

Fun fact: you can make Meowser roar in the thumbnail by placing him down and saving mid-roar animation.

In the 3D World style, some objects have really long animations when placed down (mainly Meowser). Because of this, you can do the Lanky Mario thumbnail trick with Meowser (and other enemies if their animation for being placed down is long enough).

Hey I have a question. Do you know if you can put lanky Mario in the thumbnail in 3D world? Because I’ve tried for 30 minutes and it’s pissing me off how I haven’t gotten it. Every time I have tried, it seems like I did it exactly at the same speed, or faster then the video did, and it doesn’t work. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong, or if it doesn’t work in 3D world. I’d appreciate a reply if you see this!

3:10 I found a glitch where you collect a power up right as you are about to go in the pipe, and for a few frames you can turn around and enter it backwards. I found this on accident while playing a level. Also, the power up comes from a pipe. I’m not sure you can recreate it

in all of the styles they appear in, koopa troopas, cheep cheep and mechakoopas change their sprites when placed down depending on the color of it

12:36 Maybe it's because the Dry Bones Shell is more of a vehicle that changes Mario's moveset than an equipable piece of gear. Since neither the Shellmets nor the Star change Mario's power up state or moveset at all (his power-up stays when equipping these), they don't change his ghost sprite. Even though the Dry Bones Shell is like this as well, it does change his moveset so I guess that's enough to change the sprite. However, I don't know if this is the same for the Kuribo/Stiletto Shoes. I can't check right now if they appear in the ghost but I would assume they do because of the same reasons I say the Dry Bones Shell does. If they don't then maybe I'm wrong and it's another reason. Also I'm pretty sure the Clown Car doesn't show up (but it doesn't really change his moveset much at all anyways) but the Fire Clown Car doesn't appear either even though it does change his moveset, but maybe since it's just a form of the Clown Car it was really both or neither so they went with neither.

Tittle: Useless Mario maker facts. 293000 people: seems interesting!

I know this video is a little bit old, and you might never see this, but another interesting enemy that has a different icon with clear conditions is Lakitu in NSMBU. I’ve played this game for thousands of hours and I only recently noticed his peculiar icon.

Yoshi's head overlaps mario because it's a separate sprite to make animating easier, just like in the original game (in that game also due to how sprite tiles worked and they saw it as an advantage) edit: (16:34)

I had already discovered the backwards arrow pipe entry in my own testing but I think it could be an interesting mechanic for a puzzle where you can’t turn around.

I too pointed out the Snake Block Trail, but I guess I wasn't the first guy. However, Snake Blocks are actually global ground. So there is a kind-of useful fact, guess my fact is still not getting into this series.

Many people believe that Boo Buddies don't turn shy when the player looks at them, but in the Ground Night theme, they turn shy.

Dry Bones: the most overlooked, underrated, hated, unused (sometimes,) and underused Mario character ever! I love him, though! Give me some support with Odyssey Central, here! Dry Bones for Smash! Dry Bones is a winner! Dry Bones is the best! Dry Bones deserves more! Dry Bones rocks!

i like Koopalings too, but i think why people hate them is them returning too much without much changes. that's only aspect of them that i don't like actually.

This one's actually useful: Thwomps on tracks will not try to smash mario when there's ground above them, but when there's air above them, they will! Side note, a thwomp on a track will not keep moving on the track after it has returned from trying to crush you.

Did you know, the red pipe is slightly brighter in play and maker mode compared to the mario sculpture in story mode?

The best part of this video is Odyssey trying to sue undue dog for offending him.

Might be arguably useful, but if you place a canon on the side of a question mark block and hit the question mark block, the canon will fall even though the question mark block didn’t break. (Or at least, in smw)

Useless fact: Remember in the video when you talked about in the editor if you try to erase Mario or put him in a burner he will get scared? It turns out that if you do this in the SMB or the SMB3 theme as small Mario, he will sweat and shake, but he won’t crouch, even though you can crouch in these gams styles. This might be because in these original games, you could not crouch as small Mario. And in all of the other game modes, you will crouch because in those original games, you could crouch as small Mario.
