FAQ:
1.Where are you from?
My parents are both Mexican immigrants. I was born and raised in California, US and right now I am living in San Jose, CA, USA with my spouse and our pets (Estrellita 🐶 and Skye 🐱)
2.How long have you been teaching?
Over 8 years full time teaching-before that I did individual tutoring for 6 years. I've worked with youth and young adults in California for over 4 years now. Before that, I taught ESL/ELD classes at a middle school for 3 years in Dallas, TX as well as at an adult language school in the evenings.
3.How many languages do you speak?
Well I speak 2 fluently, and then some.... :)
English-fluent
Spanish-fluent
4.What age groups have you worked with?
Pretty much all ages over 10. I have worked middle school (11-14 yrs old), college (17-23 years old) and older working adults (23+ years old).
5.Did you always want to be a teacher?
I always wanted to be someone to help a lot of people in any way, but no. I didn't know it was something I wanted to do until my first year in college when I volunteered at an elementary school. Growing up, I also wanted to be a firefighter, pediatrician, professional pianist, and an archeologist with a focus on Egyptian history hieroglyphics amazed me as a kid
6.Why teach English?
Why not? lol...honestly, it's been so rewarding to meet people from different cultural backgrounds and learning from them also while I teach them English like learning about their traditions, food, languages, life experiences, etc. So while teaching English online is super fun, I also love interacting with people as much as possible, online and in person.
7.Do you teach online classes?
Since I do teach in person, I currently do not offer online classes. I am looking to create my own website in the next year with more resources for English learners.
Do you have other questions?? Write them in the comments section! I'd love to hear from you! I appreciate all comments and feedback.

I've been researching a lot of these kind of call center english vids. Yours is one of the better ones out there. Call center communication is hard. What peolpe in training really need is to practice acknowledging customers Issues along with the emotion attached to them. I've notticed most people here on youtube making videos are english teachers. Most of them are offering Canned staements for students to memorise, what is really needed is teaching people how to soecifically acknowledge key stressed words that the customer is using, that way they can feel heard and relax. You have much more insight into call center communication and it really shows.

It seems like so long ago, but I worked in a call center for a few months before I got my first full-time teaching job in Texas. I met some of the most friendliest co-workers I've met and had some great times making each other laugh as a way to deal with some of the stresses you deal with a job like this. If I could add another tip on this video, it would be to build relationships with those you work with and know what you're going through...and of course, keep practicing key English phrases! Feel free to share your own experiences here! I'd love to read about them.
