Use What You Have

Ғылым және технология

With Trigonometry, you don't always have the abiltiy to determine your answer with the information given. Take what you have, and use it to find a value you need to solve the problem. In this case, we use the tangent function to find an angle, and then use that angle via the rule of sines to solve our problem.
We also introduce the cosine on the slide rule in this episode. In the next installment, we will examine the tangent and cosine function on the slide rule in more detail.

The slide rule underpins the logarithmic basis of computation. Thanks for taking this good step back to understand it.

Yes, but how do you prove that the earth is flat with a slide rule?

    1. the cursor seeks it's own level. 2. there is no curve to the body. 3. the slide always rises to eye-level. 4. there are disk-shaped slide rules, but no ball-shaped slide rules. 5. trust random basement-dwellers on youtube! never trust science, evidence, reason, or common sense. eat it, globetards! 😂🤣
