Use small circles for this easy FISH SCALES technique -
Комедия
Does hot weather have you wanting to splash around in the water like a mermaid? This fun way to use small punched circles will get you right in the mood. It’s easy, it’s visually striking, and it makes a fantastic motif for a journal pocket, card, belly band, or any number of other elements!

Oh, Shawn, thank you so much! I'm so grateful you get what I'm going for here - to find fun, different, easy new ideas that we can all use! Thank YOU for being here!
You have made some of the most beautiful items here. ❤ The belly band looks like the perfect bookmark 😊 Reading aloud is a big part of my job and bookmarks get played with and lost. I am forever looking for new ways to make a sturdy bookmark. The mermaid scales look perfect! Many thanks for another fun and useful project that is oh so beautiful too!

So cool and I have seen this technique lots of times making cards, but never thought to use them for my journals! And when you turned the little notebook with the bigger circles, OMG I could not believe how the perspective changed. Love it! All of the items were just wonderful. Thanks for reminding me of these. Circle punches are my favorite crafting tool.

Thank you so much! Yes, the potential for circles is almost endless, no matter what paper craft we use! I really appreciate your kind feedback, thank you!
What a great use for a circle punch. Using bits of scraps from a journal could make a great coordinating piece of ephemera. Lots of possibilities going through my mind.❤❤❤

I love this idea. The neutral one does appeal to me at the moment but if you were doing these for a certain journal, using colors to compliment it would be really nice. I, too prefer the smaller circles. Great idea. Thanks.❤❤❤

Muchas, muchas gracias, Trini!
My first time watching you. I don't do journaling, but am interested in collage art. But at the age of 82, since I definitely on the "home stretch", I don't want to invest a lot of $, time, or supplies, so I love my life "vicariously" through other crafters who do all those other things, like Ceri The Crafter from Wales; just ❤ to watch the process, and I 'll just stick to continuing to make my 100+ monthly greeting cards to send to people.....as long as my hands, eyes, and mind last😅

Judy, you're amazing with your greeting card productivity! I salute you! I'm also a huge fan of dear Ceri Griffiths, who is always on my must-watch list! I hope you dabble a little bit into the junk journaling journey, though - do consider it - some of the very simple things really don't require any supplies other than what you likely already have on hand. In fact, you're giving me an idea for an upcoming video...thanks for the inspiration! Take care and talk to you soon!

Hi, my friend! Thanks for the reminder of the Mermaid Parade - I'd forgotten! I missed the Pride Parade since we were out camping, so we'll try to make it downtown for the mermaid festivities on July 27. I do looooooooove the Portlandia statue! When I was teaching at PSU, my bus stop was near City Hall and I loved watching for the beautiful statue as I went past. You stay cool, too - I think we've almost made it through this wave! (BTW, your r/w/b collages in your short video were stunning - don't lose hope! ❤️)
