I noticed that during the portion of this video where you bounced the flash off the ceiling, you pointed it straight up. This is great for most applications. In the past, I did the same until I realized my early smaller type flashes were far too weak. To remedy the weak flash I used a pool table or billiard approach. By that, I mean that I bounced the flash at an angle that caused the main flash to reflect directly to the subject. That way I got the maximum amount of light which overcame the weakness of the flash. Additionally, when doing the billiard method, you must quickly approximate the distance from your flash to the ceiling and back down to the subject. Sometimes that distance is too far for many flashes.

Sir , I am DIPAK SRIVASTAV from West Bengal , INDIA . I am your Big fan whatever i have learnt those everything from you . Sir can you please say me a solution that will be very helpful for me the problem is when I am shooting with my godox v1 in optical slave mode 90 percent time it works properly but when I put it to the behind of my subject for getting rim light effect the flash is not optically triggered and I use nikon D 7200 with 18 140 mm lens...

i am torn on what the right flash is to buy. i want 2 flash for off camera usage but also want to be able to use one on hotshoe if / when needed. A flash that has at least no more then 2/2.5 recycle time as well as being TTL on or off camera. WHat might you suggest? I would hate to waste $$ on wrong product.

Hi, just turn on optical trigger (S1 it is called normally) in your remote flash and use your built in flash (built in flash must set to manual mode, lowest power)

i use optical trigger. a mode in Godox that will detect spark of light and fire a flash sir

Is there a reason why you opted to go with optic trigger rather than using a TTL trigger? That should eliminate the need to cover the built in flash right?
